There are a few characters pretty much guaranteed that are DLC at this point; Elphelt (from the figure in the reveal, devs saying it was her or Ram for base game), Aria/Jack-O (fully modelled in-game, story important), Dizzy (mentioned in one of the dev talks, foreshadowed in the reveal) among them.
@@ParagonFury I assumed based on what little bit I know of the story for Elphelt to be one of the DLC characters. Since Rams mission is to save her and the trailer advertised this as “the conclusion to their fates.” Which made me assume most storylines would conclude this game.
And also kind of a nice reference to the story mode (spoilers in case someone cares): Nago never fights Ky, both of them attacking an all powerful I-no happens at the very end in an attempt to let Sol charge the outrage and shoot at I-no's weakpoint, which it works, and also in this clip, when the camera zooms on I-no, it quicly changes to black and white, the same thing that happens when she dies by the outrage, and the same thing that she was trying to avoid since her first appearence, a boring, black and white future

I always love how much production value they put into Daisuke's albums. Most record companies are too cheap to spring for entire in-depth fighting games to promote them.
I think the thing that impresses me the most about their animation here and elsewhere in the game is the sheer force of the emotions they're able to convey via facial expression. Like, seeing Ky in the forest and smiling at possibly his wife offscreen, and you're seeing a flow of exultation and joy and love play across his face, it's so evocative and powerful to me. Beautiful work.

This intro has me grinning from start to finish. The bait and switch with Ky and Nagoriyuki charging each other before going after I-no as well as I-no and Axl’s crosstime teatime was great.

Every Guilty Gear has had an anime opening. At varying levels of quality and competency. As a rule the openings get worse on subsequent editions of the game (XX through XX#R had a *killer* opening, and XXAC replaced that with an opening with a lot less style and flair, each Xrd opening got closer and closer to just being a montage of character pictures...)

Chaos (Bedman with a Gun, aka Gunman) seems guaranteed. He's clearly one of the main villains of the story, no way we don't get him ASAP. Aria will probably be the second character (They've said the first character is a new one, and the second is a returning, and I'm counting Aria as Jack-O) in August.

I've loved this series for 15 years, ever since discovering it in my local arcade as a teenager. I knew Guilty Gear stood alone from the pack, there was no other series like it. Maybe there never will be again. I don't know if Strive will really be the game we all want the last Guilty Gear to be, but I'm here for it. One more roar, let's rock.
Yep. Jack-O', Happy Chaos, and Goldlewis are shoo-ins, and Asuka (That Man) is pretty damn likely too. Gabriel is also a possibility, but they've shown him off a bunch without actually putting him in the game for a while, so he might not happen.

The livestream said the 1st dlc character would be new (I'm guessing it's Happy Chaos) and then the 2nd would be a returning character. Hope we'll get Johnny and Baiken!
The first character is Happy Chaos 100%, the other four are all returning apparently. If we go by the most requested they would be Bridget (number 1 in Japan), Baiken (number 1 literally in the rest of the world), Johnny (number 2 worldwide) and Dizzy (number 3 worldwide). They are not necessarily picking the most popular ones, but there's a good chance these are gonna be added sooner or later

Sol's story pretty much ended when he reunited with his lover. Im more interested in Axl. Im not gonna even be mad if the whole story centers around him in the future gg games.
First playing this when I was 12 years old on the Dreamcast. GGX. . . . So many years how far we've come and how much we've grown. I know this sounds sappy but seeing and hearing this almost puts me to tears
This is the best opening Guilty Gear ever had. Smell of the Game might be your favorite opening song or not, but the combination of that song with these images...it's just like a hype anime op full with lore and teasing important plot points.
Apparently, the Story Mode is gonna be about four to five hours long, and it's just straight-up cutscenes. Which I'm okay with. Shoehorning fights (that we as players control) into Story Modes messes with the narrative.

Chaos (Bedman with a Gun, aka Gunman) seems guaranteed. He's clearly one of the main villains of the story, no way we don't get him ASAP. Aria will probably be the second character (They've said the first character is a new one, and the second is a returning, and I'm counting Aria as Jack-O) in August.

That means it could be someone like That Man, especially since he has a model now, but I would bank on him being one of the later characters. So it doesnt necessarily have to be the characters first appearance. But yeah I want Happy alot he seems cool

I've loved this series for 15 years, ever since discovering it in my local arcade as a teenager. I knew Guilty Gear stood alone from the pack, there was no other series like it. Maybe there never will be again. I don't know if Strive will really be the game we all want the last Guilty Gear to be, but I'm here for it. One more roar, let's rock.

Yep. Jack-O', Happy Chaos, and Goldlewis are shoo-ins, and Asuka (That Man) is pretty damn likely too. Gabriel is also a possibility, but they've shown him off a bunch without actually putting him in the game for a while, so he might not happen.

The livestream said the 1st dlc character would be new (I'm guessing it's Happy Chaos) and then the 2nd would be a returning character. Hope we'll get Johnny and Baiken!
The first character is Happy Chaos 100%, the other four are all returning apparently. If we go by the most requested they would be Bridget (number 1 in Japan), Baiken (number 1 literally in the rest of the world), Johnny (number 2 worldwide) and Dizzy (number 3 worldwide). They are not necessarily picking the most popular ones, but there's a good chance these are gonna be added sooner or later

Apparently, the Story Mode is gonna be about four to five hours long, and it's just straight-up cutscenes. Which I'm okay with. Shoehorning fights (that we as players control) into Story Modes messes with the narrative.
