I remember him I went to Joliet central. His dad would sit in the bronco on the football field and big alstott would pull it early in the morning on wet grass!

It looked like JCA was about to be handed its first loss until that 75-yard pass to Brian Bloom, who, IIRC, spun around three times upon catching the ball because of the sheer force! Ran in for a touchdown, leading to a massive comeback. Never saw a more exciting game!

Excuse me @TimbzR4Stompin but I recorded that game and all the games of that year and the following year with exception to those that were shown on Cable so as not to have conflict with cable rights. I arranged with Father Bill at JCA to make copies for whoever wanted a.copy for a fee to apply toward the football program. The first copy after the coach was sold to Mr. Bloom. My son was number 45 on the team as a junior. He was kicker for kick offs. A soccer player did PAT. I have been in Asia for 10 years. I have all the games in a storage locker on original VHS and have backups on DVD. When I return, I'll gladly upload the games from that year. I allowed all copyrights to JCA so they can sell copies.
I played in this game. We shutdown Alstott for 3.5 quarters. Then he broke off some serious yardage and 3 TDs in the fourth quarter. We still won our 4th straight IHSA State title beating Wheaton South 21-14. JC lost to them in the semis.
So, who won this game? I see that JCA went up 6-0 after scoring a short-run play TD and missing the PAT. However, the tape stopped soon after. Saw the JCA kick-off with Mt. Carmel returning it to about the 25 yard line, and then the tape stopped.
JC won 37-31 in 2OT. We were up 24-6 with 6 minutes left in the fourth. Alstott broke off three huge TD runs to tie it in those 6 minutes. He scored the winner in the 2OT

We watched film on that JC BB game and alstott took a HUGE hit during that game and stayed upright and ran down the field for a TD i think...in the film room we were loke What the actual hell

So week3 MC gets a young St Rita team igor played on and 0-2 MC avenged frustrations by waxing us 35-0. But for last 2 min of game-which was way over already, McNabb comes in. He wouldn't have started because McGrew was a senior and thats just how it worked back then. But us-St Rita plyrs are on sideline and like who the f**k is this guy? We gotta deal w/him for 2 more years? S**t. Donovan was good, damn good in HS.

You have no clue! Donovan was an amazing athlete, great kid and would've started at any other school, but Mike McGrew, who got a d1 scholarship to Northwestern and played on the NU Rose bowl team in 1995, was the best QB in the state at the time. The only issue was our receivers weren't great, yet

Donovan was Mike McGrew's backup in 1991. He was on the varsity. He played a good number of games because we blew a lot of teams out that year.
