Glad to see someone else gardening like me. Making it up as I go along! It's what a true artist does! 💕

This is how a true and dedicated Gardener / Landscaper takes the initiative to dig the earth and clear ground for new plantings. Take a shovel, the spade and some hard energy and the results are beautiful. I will immediately apply his techniques!!!

Last year was my first experience with gardening. I was a nervous wreck to plant anything, not knowing how tall it would actually grow, if by chance I was able to get anything to grow at all. I thought this year would be different, but I find myself doing everything but putting actual flowers in the ground. I stumbled across your videos this morning. I love how you just go for it with no fear. You have inspired me to do the same. Off I go, out to the garden with my seeds, bulbs and plants in containers, like a fearless green-thumbed warrior! Please continue to post your videos. I've learned so much. God bless and brave gardening!

That's the way it is with gardening. Something not supposed to be tall get overly tall in one spot, then you move it, not tall the next season. And vice versa. Or plant two of the same plant beside each other, one thrive and one die. You just never know. Your comment was a yr ago, I hope you're still gardening. It's trial and error but so rewarding and fun!

John, what you teach us, is to be brave and be bold when it comes to planting👍I've learned a lot from you. My own gardening approach is just to 'wing it' and hope for the best, to take chances and enjoy the successes and learn from the failures.

Brilliant channel. I'm only 23 and I can't dig half as fast as you. My goal now is to match your speed and stamina and multi-tasking ability, it's phenomenal. Short videos, but always packed with info, keep it up!

Wonderful. Just want to add for people new to planting -- often, when talking plants out of containers to put them in the ground, you find the roots a bit bound. You want to "prune" the roots some so that they can establish more easily in their new home. That just means putting a few cuts in them on the bottom and maybe up the sides a bit and then loosening the roots a bit with your fingers before planting. With these that John planted, it didn't look like they needed it (didn't see any roots, so they probably weren't root bound), which usually means they haven't been in pots too long. But often you'll find otherwise.

Can you do a update for this plant please John? It was a really good choice to change it and add that pop of colour to the scheme.

We have about twenty large pots and as one stops flowering we can move another into it;s place and let the first recover. Same with bulbs. A garden is always maturing and you ave to adjust .

I need to send this to my DH. He says " we don't move plants around like furniture", at which I said "yes we do." But if I sent this to him he would develop a tick watching you get dirt in the gravel, his pet peeve. I should send it anyway just to push his buttons! Hahahaha.
The rose looks awesome against the grass and the silver.
