It’s more like Ubisoft included a song in Jd2020 that was popular and also happened to sample a song that was in a previous game of there’s. I don’t think it was pure laziness but then again Idk because The Time Dirty Bit is a monstrosity and disgrace to the original that takes up space. So maybe it’s a trend they’re tryna do.

Then Cardi B did hers in 2019 taking sample from Allstars. Petes song is so old its outside of anyone paying any royalty licensing for sampling. Allstars should pay Pete but don't for that reason. Allstars would normally get some royalty from their hit but don't as there is no more group to pay ( no individual artist to pay ... they were actually a super group of latin stars who only formed once recorded once then separated). CardiB B picked Allstars for their version had a royalty free hook to sample. Similarly JD choose Allstar version...it's royalty free effectively. They could've picked Cardi B but they would need to pay her. JD include older tracks mostly for same reason...with one track which attracts royalty only so they can advertise the game and album as cool Rip off might as well make your own mix tape of old dance tracks by going thru Amazon old albums for their clips then downloading original as mp3 for mix tape.
