As someone who spent many hours playing Heroes of Might and Magic back in high school, Battle Chasers: Nightwar seemed like a game that could bring back some memories. I found the art style quite cool, but the combat felt too basic, so I gave up on it. Good to know it ramps up, as I was thinking of giving it another shot on the Steam Deck. Maybe the portability aspect will help as well.
Yeah it ramps up a bit and keeps it interesting but overall it still is a relatively chilled out battle system compared to others out there. Also, I think playing it on the steam deck is a great shout. For me, turn based RPGs and handhelds are a match made in heaven 👌🏼
I originally hated Immortal Unchained and left it sitting in my collection for a few years. Afyer playing games similar to it (Remnants from the Ashes), I went back and reslized it wasn't the game that sucked, it was me al along. Glad I kept it.
Yeah I very rarely get rid of games even if I don’t like them at first as tastes change and what I look for in a game also changes over time. I’m the same with records tbf
I feel like Immortals Fenyx Rising should have been on this game, hilarious writing and fantastic combat, it deserved a lot more attention and a sequel
Yeah I think so too, especially after the weird generation we’re currently experiencing. Last Gen had it all, amazing AAA games, great AA/Mid range titles and an absolute explosion of creative indie games. With the large majority getting physical releases too
I've been binging your videos on hidden gems for PS4 and other underated games. Given the current state of games and the industry, imo, I think I made a mistake purchasing a PS5 given that the PS4 still has a lot more to offer.
Nice one man, yeah on the whole I play way more PS4 games on my PS5 than actual PS5 games. It’s been a weird generation this one. Thankfully it’s backwards compatible tho so I don’t have to listen to my PS4’s fan scream while I play anymore. Every cloud has a silver lining 😂
Great suggestions that I've mostly missed, however by labeling the chapters as "number x", its rather hard to figure out the title of the game without having to rewatch the said chapter.
I can see the confusion but it’s a term used for RPG’s made outside of the Asia (Eastern) market. So in this case, American and European RPG’s as opposed to Japanese or “JRPG’s” for example. It’s very much a relative term and doesn’t make much sense for those not already in the “West” but so far there’s no better term out there, or at least that I’ve heard of. If you’re after Cowboy style RPG’s try Weird West, Hard West or Evil West, all are great 👍🏼

Agreed, I’ve now changed the chapter titles to include the names of the games so should be easier to reference. Hope that helps
