Back in the mid/late 1960’s I flew mostly the Pensome strain of rollers backcrossed with some select rollers from breeders in the Birmingham England area … I had this metal coffee can with a piece of 1/2” pipe ran thru the center … with some 1/2” gravel rocks inside… it was extra loud … learned this trick from some much older guys… I could call down my whole kit licitly split ! I also had this old 20 ft Calcutta bamboo pole with a triangular white flag on it … all you needed was one bird to see it and down they came … I had lots of birds from Bill Pensom back then … the old Englishman took a liking to me… we had one agreement… I’d never sell any of the birds I got from him… just return them … memories
John you’ve got them trying pretty good … I tried to keep the number in my kit between 10-15 birds… I had lots of the blue badge heads … some silver red bars, red checks, almonds mostly white, but I had this one pair that kicked out jet black badge heads … those birds had 9-10 white flight feathers … spun tight … looked like a black white sidewall tire spinning … I had a big loft 15’ x 30’ in three sections … Breeders… Kit birds … and lots of dropper pairs (a small strain of red/silver checked homing pigeons)… I started hybridizing rollers when I was 9 years old in the 4th grade … but I got drafted into the Army (Vietnam) in 1967 and gave my birds to a good friend … my dad built me two other lofts … one had 20+ pure white parlor rollers in it and the other loft had pure white bull eyed Thailand Laughers … actually they came from Sadia Arabia … after the males would coo they let out this Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! 😂 They helped pay the feed bill $ I really enjoyed your video …
Lovely birds John, those youngsters are looking good, if you´ve been following the European Cup Roller Fly, you´ll see Shaun Overfield won with a kit related to your´s, going back to Kevin.
Hi Eric, thanks for your response. Yes mate I have been following the European Cup congratulations to Shaun and everyone that flew. Good to see some old names in and around the top ten. Do they separate cocks n hens or fly mix kits?

Olá amigo á gente cria é nunca mais esquece tinha muitos na minha casa 🐦 eu tinha brancos da cabeça preta e pretos da cabeça branca 🐦 a criação fica linda 🐦🐦💙
It takes a bit more to set up. Easy cleaning , no maintenance. Turn the lights on feed on the fly pen if you work late. Also grat for training the young.
I used to I came second in 2016 qualified in 2017. I got a bird tossed over the fence with rota and kicked out of the club in the same year. They are a different breed in Australia. Very jealous people over here.
Around 1 meter square. With ventilation down bottom rear. The air goes through front door and channels down the bottom. So the birds are not in the draft. It seems to keep the dust at bay.
Now thats a family of birds. Love the colors and patterns your producing.
Man I wish that I could buy a few of these Rollers beautiful family of Rollers 💯🏆💪👍🏽🤗👌

Quality pigeons don’t come in to it. What you need to survive in Australia is a good quality pair of knee Pads.
