      Yeah, young George was a bad man, and he suddenly met The Lord after losing to Jimmy Young. And, The Lord took away his boxing career; made him a preacher.
      And, after his preachin’ was over, The Lord handed George back his gloves and told him to go and win Me a title, and tell Our story. And, George did exactly that.
      Michael put a hurtin’ on George for 10 rounds. But, give Big George credit. He hung In there to earn the right to throw those final blows to win the fight.
      And, George went to his corner and knelt in prayer. Hollywood could never create such an unbelievable story. But, it did happen.
      Young George was a ruthless killer. Old George was every bit the same killer, but with a surrendered soul to The Lord.

      @@angeloiodice9304 ...Yes! Amen to that. The Lord gave him new Life.....then gave him Wisdom and Miraculous redemption. You couldn't script better poetic justice if you tried. Time for an epic movie to tell this man's story, while he's still here to receive his flowers. And Lord knows George deserves it, after having been the butt of so many of Ali's films and documentaries over the years.

    His physique may not have been what it once was, but his punch never left... that punch was what, 12" away? Yet it broke Moorer's mouthpiece and paralyzed his body... that's UNreal power folks, and at that age it's akin to Nolan Ryan's improbable 7th no-hitter in his mid-40s---------the stuff of modern legend that you won't see again.

      George had such a brilliant approach to that fight. Somehow he knew he could fool Moorer into being lazy with his movement without any fear for George's power. That lazy jab was key. Foreman even fooled the commentators. Even they thought he might have lost his power. It wasn't until the 7th or 8th round that they realized that Foreman was bluffing. Usually Foreman's jab would hit guys like a telephone pole, but against Moorer he used it to set a trap. Michael even had the balls to stay within Foreman's range while circling to his left. I think a big part of Foreman's plan in that fight had to do with his previous losses before that fight. Foreman had already tried to outmuscle, and outpunch Holyfield, and Tommy Morrison, but both of those guys had a lot more respect for George's power, and they refused to stand in front of George for any extended period of time. Morrison stayed out of Foreman's punching range for most of the fight, and Holyfield fought both from the outside, and the inside, but never at mid-range where Foreman could land that straight right. Moorer was the perfect person for George to fight, especially in a championship matchup. I love Michael Moorer. He was a phenomenal fighter, but his arrogance got the best of him a lot of times. As great as Moorer was, he held himself back from being an all-time great champion. I think he left the Light Heavyweight division a little bit too soon (he could have been the most dominant LHW champ ever), and once he got with Teddy Atlas, he should have listened to him a lot more often, even when things were going great in the ring. We all have our own flaws in life, and we all have to learn some things the hard way. Micheal Moorer has accomplished things that some of us can only dream of, and even though he never reached his full potential in the ring, his career puts most guys to shame.

      @Nkosinati ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Agreed💯 20:13 Michael, Michael, Michael...smh. First of all, nothing but respect for Michael Moorer...he had an awesome career. But to call George's shot "lucky". Smh. First of all, Michael, Teddy told you he was setting you up...MULTIPLE times...from the 1ST round on. He told you to hit and step out of range. He told you that all George is doing is using that jab to look for one good right. You didn't listen. I'm sure, like any macho man, you wanted to demonstrate that you could go toe to toe with an old man. You wanted to show that you were tougher than Morrison or Holyfield. So you didn't step back. He measured you the whole fight, and finally caught you. That's called a lesson; learn from it. But for you to still be in denial...calling him a lucky liar because he said that had been his plan...it's a bad look. OF COURSE that was his plan. What other plan would he have? He wasn't gonna win a decision against you; you were too young and fast for that. I'm sure you've had a chance to watch the fight, and the corners were mic'd; there was hardly any worry at all in the Foreman corner. Only at one point, around the 5th, did Dundee warn him not to fight your fight, because he was trying to chase you a little bit. Other than that, the fight was going exactly how they wanted it to go; you were staying in range, and George wasn't getting tired at all even after the 8th. It didn't matter that you won every round; George wasn't trying to get a decision. You were set up for a knockout. So all this "lucky" and "liar" talk is just a bad look, and it only tarnishes you, not him. His legacy as one of the GOATs was already in stone.

If anything, it explains why you just stood there without a clue about what was coming next. George has used that move so many times, I actually cannot understand how you could not know it was coming. Unbelievable..... A thousand boxing trainers teach that move. Even amatuer trainers teach it. So how could you not know??? And what kind of a champion stands right in front of one of boxings histories greatest punchers? What a story! Even at 45, Big George never lost his colossal punch - or his concrete chin. Or his patience and perseverense! Even though Moorer was knocking him all over the ring, George never lost sight of his goal - which was to recapture the heavyweight title he lost to the great Muhammad Ali - TWENTY years earlier. Heck, when facing Moorer, he even wore the same shorts as when he fought - and lost to - Ali. How's that for dramatic irony!

  • @user-uz7qx5do8d
    @user-uz7qx5do8d หลายเดือนก่อน

    This is all about George. If you watched him win his gold Olympic medal with less than 20 fights under his belt at 19... You would understand a bit. If you saw him destroy a pumped up Kenny Norton, a fantastic athlete almost as big as George, but George did exactly this... Only quicker. The opponents feel his super heavy punches and are relieved that they just "move them around". Then comes a fast punch, sometimes an uppercut. George planned that for over 20 years. Michael is a great guy to listen to still. There was reasons for his anger and rebelling. It is an ugly sport at times. Mostly outside the ring. Two great champions.

  • @TheGreatest1974
    @TheGreatest1974 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I tend to believe George. He was likely taking a few rounds to figure out what he was going to do, and Moorer tired a bit in the last two rounds of the fight- and that’s when George managed to pull off the two ‘one two’s’ that ko’d Moorer. People don’t realise, George was a hell of an experienced fighter. This was his EIGHTIETH professional fight. All at heavyweight. And only 2 defeats in those 80 fights! You don’t GET that good and not be a master of your craft. Yes Moorer was winning the fight, but he was 20 years younger than George. George expected to lose rounds. But he knew that you can NEVER win unless you STAY in the fight. And by god he stayed in that fight no matter what Moorer hit him with, and Moorer was a BIG puncher. But George stayed and stayed and stayed- then it all came together like it was a gift from God for all the punishment he’d taken in his ten year comeback. And he damn well deserved it. 💥🥊
