So an interesting fact about the timer that's shown in one of the in-game hints, since you were wondering why it wasn't starting immediately. The timer starts when either the last person starts drawing, or 15 seconds have passed, whichever comes first. So the game gives you up to 15 seconds before the clock starts to think about what you'll do for your prompt.

I just figured out a secret in the henry stickmin games flee the facility theres a guy called polus (something i forgot) and his bio says he won a sweepstake and was able to name a planet after himself and in among us the lava planet in one of the dlc’s is called polus another reference to among us
