  • Hunting? Yea, it's like that. Every time we float the river the location of where the fish are holding, hiding, and feeding changes. We approach it by adjusting to weather, air and water temps, the consistency of the weather pattern from the past 3-4 days, and what we see upon arrival. We will bring a "quiver" of rods, variations of spinning and bait casting, and try to have a bag full of lures that will effectively be able to match the food sources and depths that the different species will be. I always have a couple of spinning reels loaded with 8lb line, a level wind reel with 20lb line, and now I'm carrying an ultralight spinning reel just to make it fun. Lures used consistantly are the Rpala countdown elites, regular countdowns, X-Raps, Berkely Hit Sticks, and a variety of in-line spinners like Mepps and Panther Martins. My bait caster is always loaded with a Super Spook Jr or a topwater of some kind. Enjoy the footage, we CRUSHED it! Thanks to my buddy Mark and his companionship all year as well as an old friend Rick and his harmonica!
