This is a good method of repair for such a puncture. I've done it several times over the years. But, lately, tire shops have abandoned it in favor of the patch plug. Plugs are a great temporary repair. But you should always have the tire removed from the wheel, inspected and repaired with an appropriate radial patch.
I worked in tires specifically for 2 years been working on cars for about 5. This is a good last resort but only as a last resort. If you patch a tire this way a tire shop can not properly repair your tire. Rope plugs also allow water to get into the metal bands of the tires which cause them to rust and eventually separate. This can lead to your tire potentially exploding while driving. If you have a spare tire it's a better idea to install that or get a tow. A tow is generally cheaper than a new tire.
How may plugs have you seen failed? Ive been driving with a plug in my tire for a year now. No problems. Gonna fix it with a radial patch some day. Which is no problem even if there has been a plug in the tire before. Been fixing cars for around 10 years already. Time flies.

@@plavins1 I've seen many fail. I've had to replace quite a few customer tires due to separation or the plug not holding air. When I was in tires we would regularly cycle cars out every 10-30 minutes 8 hours a day, so I've seen a lot of tire failures, replaced a lot of tires, and done a lot of plug/patch repairs the proper way.
Makes a small hole bigger, and breaks the steel belts in the tire when you shove the reamer and plug through. It's better for a tire to do an internal patch
I own a tire shop. And to be honest I preffer good quality plug. For a patch on the wealthy shops they still not only prove the hole most of them use a drill to match the hole on the angle the nail went in. That's why you will see like a type of plug when ever you have a patch at Walmart or so Not only that the inside tire needs to be scrape with a rotatory tool so the "damage" is twice if you want to look at it on that perspective. Personally I do not make the hole bigger for a patch unless is really hard to see it sometimes just an small tiny metal is the issue but enough for leaking. So I just do the buff and finish. In conclusion I don't know 😂 but I preffer a a good quality plug is cheaper and if it leaks again re plug it. Yes a patch will last you longer. Virtually all car insurance includes road service now. They can plug the tire and have a compressor to inflate the tire back to normal pressure. If you get a flat on the road very unlikely that you carry a compressor. Many people don’t have a compressor at home. Yeah, you believe that the hole can be plugged before losing too much air? Maybe…..but it may be a LOT more flat before you even begin the repair. Just sayin…..
NOOO stop doing that shit. I'm a mechanic and every week I've got a customer who has did that and it's leaking air. Go to a mechanic and ask him to repair your tire professionally !

Такие движения несут историю.
Мой совет: лучше с саморезом до шиномонтажа доехать. Потому что после этой процедуры нужно будет грибок ставить, а его цена 500 р и выше. После самореза обычная заплатка 50-100 рублей.
Only ever use as a temporary solution. This is not a safe repair and should always be followed up by visiting a tyre store to have it professionally looked at.
Reading some comments, shows some people do not have a clue of what's happening

Virtually all car insurance includes road service now. They can plug the tire and have a compressor to inflate the tire back to normal pressure. If you get a flat on the road very unlikely that you carry a compressor. Many people don’t have a compressor at home. Yeah, you believe that the hole can be plugged before losing too much air? Maybe…..but it may be a LOT more flat before you even begin the repair. Just sayin…..
That was the fucking fastest I've seen someone patch a tire. Literally took me 20 min to do it the first time.
😂😂
Kindly , is there international shipping would love to get my Dad this?
reXpair.com to order. Thanks.
Das Verfahren ist genial. Mein Reifen hält seit 2 Jahren perfekt dicht.
Didn't need all that glue while you were abusing that tire 😂

NOOO stop doing that shit. I'm a mechanic and every week I've got a customer who has did that and it's leaking air. Go to a mechanic and ask him to repair your tire professionally !
