Sun Is Shining (Over You) - Lee "Scratch" Perry

Right after a U.S. tour two years ago, dub reggae legend Lee "Scratch" Perry recorded 12 new tracks in Negril to a reggae combination mixed by Spacewave, working with backing musicians Speak Easy. Adding percussion from Larry McDonald and backing harmonies from Detroit-based female trio Dames Brown and The Groovematist, the new album was completed just in time for 2019's Record Store Day. This is the first single from the album.

The undisputed King of Reggae Dub had a massive influence on me as a young man. Yes, it was late at night in the late 70's and I had been smokin' some very potent green. Sydney radio station JJ 1540 AM were well known for playing experimental and avant garde music. That's where I first heard Lee ' Scratch ' Perry. In June 1980, JJ became JJJ 105.7 FM and the music sounded even better.
Superlatives cannot describe or do justice to the man and his contribution to music, art and culture.
