    Episode 7 of "10 Camps, 10 Stories: Beyond the Barbed Wire"
    Mine Okubo was born in Riverside, California on June 27, 1912. Her mother, Miyo Okubo, had been an honor student at Tokyo Art Institute and encouraged her children to pursue artistic careers. Whiles at Topaz, Okubo taught art classes and drew cover designs and illustrations for the literary review, Trek. She produced over 1000 sketches of life in camp. Columbia University Press published the work, Citizen 13660, in September 1946. It told of Okubo's forced removal of life at Tanforan and Topaz.
