They need kitty perches. Little platforms up high. Or maybe over passes above the train tracks. They are looking for a clear place to hang out. The tracks are the only clear spaces.

German cats seem so intelligent, impersonal and respectful. If I had snow here and if I had an outside apartment train layout, the 3rd floor cats visiting my patio would stop the train to try and sell some chicles (chewing gum) or to clean the windshield, then spray paint some graffiti on my train as it passed them. In Deutschland sind die meisten Züge auf einer sogenannten G-Spur unterwegs. Gleisabstand ist hier 45mm.
