This is the best vlog ever. Wow, I have this issue from prostate cancer. Why doesn’t the doctor ask these questions. Omg. Actually even more questions the doc should ask.
Chris, these videos have made a HUGE difference in accepting prostate cancer diagnosis and moving forward with treatment plan. Have listened to lots of medical lectures…..all given by Drs who have not gone thru it firsthand. Your straightforward honesty has been so helpful. Thank you so much for sharing. You are a light in this world.
Chris, thanks for sharing. I’m a prostate survivor, I know your story has had a positive effect on so many people. Please keep us updated on your recovery
Hey Chris great video I know it is hard to talk about this kind of thing. We are the same age and I had no luck with pills or the pump but the injections have worked for me so far. Me and the wife talked about the implant if the injections did not work and it’s a hard choice just because of the surgery. I wish you the best of luck on the rest of your journey please keep us posted.
Chris, thanks so much for sharing this very personal information. I’m sure that there are many people who will benefit from your openness and experience. Sending lots of positive, strong healing energy your way! 🙏💫💗
I am on Play episode 28 this one. I have listened in to everyone!! Boy I hope there's more information on Chris. Right now it's June 2024. I am 70 years old and in researching debating on what treatment I am going to do. I'm leaning towards proton therapy but these stories really frightened me. Like maybe I shouldn't do anything. Just wait and see. Cuz it sure doesn't look like it's any cure for this and only you get side effects. Terrible side effects.
Hi Chris. I am 5 weeks post prostatectomy, PSA 0.05 4 weeks after surgery. About the same experience as you had WRT continence so far. My robotic RP was negative margins, bi-lateral nerve sparing, and bladder neck sparing. ePLND on the side with the lesion yielded one tiny 3mm lymph node with 1 mm of cancer in it, which makes me metastatic from my Gleason 4+5 lesion. I want to do a PSMA PET scan to try and identify any other nodes, similar to what you experienced, for treatment, but don't know if they would show up yet with this low a PSA. Meeting with the resident to decide what to do in 3 weeks, after second PSA test. Don't be embarrassed about your implant; you are among friends here who understand. Thanks for giving me a preview about the possible roads ahead; feel kind of lost right now, with all the different possible outcomes and treatment choices. PS. My latest testosterone level was 29.6 ng/dl without Lupron, so maybe any remaining cancer is anorexic.
Thanks for your videos. I've been following you over a year now. My own one year prostatectomy anniversary is next month. Took PSA test today. I'm left with very occasional drip from very minor stress incontinance and what had been 100% ED. However, there are signs of some life for the first time since surgery. Will see what happens. Thanks again for your videos.
Very informative video Chris. I have been jumping around watching your videos. I have been diagnosed with prostate cancer and I’ve been going all over the Internet looking at my options before I have my meeting with my doctor next week. Scary stuff. Your partner must be an extraordinary man. You are really blessed do you have such a love and caring partner. I’m 74 years old and I don’t know how I lasted this long without discovering prostate cancer, when younger in the early 40s must’ve been terrifying. I’m way older than you and I would be lying if I said it didn’t terrify the hell out of me right now. I’m still fairly active in the bedroom in the idea of not being able to get an erection on my own or to have some type of normal sex activity it’s just beyond comprehension! It’s going to be a long weekend thinking about all this crap. All my best to you and your partner.
Chris I really appreciate your videos. Had my prostate removed 3 months ago. A very rocky road. 100% ED and diapers. I will require a 2nd surgery because of scar tissue in the bladder neck. Your continued fight has given me inspiration. Thank you for your videos.
Thanks Chris ! Great To Hear Your Good News .. Yesterday had my 2 year check in Nashville and PSA is undetectable !!! My doctor talked to me briefly about a prosthetic 👀 probably need to call him back now ..
Hey Chris, thank you. Im going on my own journey, and your voice has been part of my support group. I really want to know how everything is going right now for you. Im a couple of days from my surgery, and walking the process with you has provided me with a level of comfort that I definetly needed. Hope to hear soon from you.
Chris, thank you very much for sharing your journey. I found it very honest and informative as I prepare for my own surgery coming up in less than two weeks. I wish you all the best in your continued recovery.
Hi Chris, great Video and gutsy effort to present such intermit details on the decisions you have made throughout your recovery. I wish you had a higher subscription and viewing rate as what you have presented is so informative and helpful to those of us dealing with the after effects of surgery. I do have a question, how do you find the tube implant in normal day to day activities, sitting down, walking , running etc. Is it noticeable and do you need to adjust position at times to gain comfort? Very happy to hear that you have been able to have the cancer targeted with the radiation therapy and hopefully that will be the end of it and you can move on to some normality in life. Cam
Hi, day to day is too early to tell right now. I still have so much swelling that I have to adjust actives to address that. However I don't feel the implant only the pump. I will let you know more as the swelling goes away and get back to normal routines.
@@chrishartley6966 any updates in 2023 … hope you are doing well … waiting to hear from you … I had RP oct 21 and recurrence to 0.14 jun 22 from 0.04 post op and got two shots of ADT … and fell back to 0.02 feb 23 …. Last two tests its doubles again to 0.3 and 0.7 … Dictor still waiting another qtr ti restart hormone ( I react badly to that)😊
Chris. Sorry you went through so much. I too have prostate cancer and will have treatment of some kind in the coming months. Any updates for those of use who share your misery. How did the incontenance work out? Certainly hope you are well.
❤thank you for sharing this amazing information. It's marvellous, modern medicine, yet an aweful lot to deal with, in every way. My heart aches for you, for all of us. Where are you now?🤔💛
Sorry to hear that. My only advice is to find the best medical team that you can and ask a lot of questions. I had great care throughout but can't say enough about MD Anderson, who I have been with for a while now. Keep fighting and stay strong.
Chris, what did you do to reduce/ prevent loss of muscle mass during ADT? Weight training? How bad was your fatigue? I'll start ADT within two weeks. I am concerned about the side effects. Please advise. Thank you for your post, very informative as always!
I lost a bit a weight and hit the gym hard before my last round of ADT. There was a point in the radiation when I stopped working out due to fatigue. I gained a little weight and lost muscle for sure. Once radiation finished, I went back to the gym and did the best I could. Slowing getting some muscle back.
I wouldn't have too much faith in that urologist of yours Chris. He didn't get to all the cancer out number one. You're incontinence lasted a very long time and now this!?!? I wouldn't go to that guy I feel so sorry for you Chris. I have listened to all of your videos so far. Following your story. I am learning a lot too. To me listen to your stories and others I don't believe there's a cure for this cancer. Seems like it's only benefitingthe doctors and chemical companies. And the radiologists and their big expensive machines which they have to pay for. Ha!
hi thanks for the videos. I am very interested in knowing about your current condition with cancer. I too am a long distance runner and have a similar history of rising PSA that remains undetectable on PSMA PET scan and high quality MRI scans of prostrate bed. Will be doing radiation soon after beginning androgen deprivation with Relugolix (similar to Lupron) As another committed and active long distance runner, I wonder if the training and running of half marathons or full marathons might have anything to do with the accelerated rise of PSA. I have not seen any research about runners and prostrate cancer. Was shocked to hear that Ed Whitlock, a Canadian elite runner, died from prostrate cancer just a few months after setting a world record. At age 85, he became the oldest person to run a marathon in less than four hours at 3 hours, 56 minutes. I know several other younger runners whose prostrate cancer also got worse after running aggressive races. Any thoughts on that? Thanks for sharing and hope things good with you.

I’ve had a titan implant for 7 years . I’m 68 years of age . Prostate removed at age48 ! Amazing results. No significant problems.
Why you waited so long to put the implant?

At your younger age, how did this happen? Was it from an injury or trauma to the prostate?
