Transit Hotel review! We stay 18 hours in the Novotel Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel!
Mark Wiens loves this hotel and this is why!
We try the breakfast, check out the pool, eat at the restaurants, and share the details of our hotel room!
Also we review the walkway and the free shuttle to and from BKK Airport and the Novotel Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel!
We compare the prices between the airport lounges and the Novotel Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel and also consider the Boxtel Hotel and we find that this is the best option for a family in transit at BKK!

I'm visiting Thailand in late January. On my way home, I have about 10 hours from my afternoon arrival from Phuket and my late-night departure back to the US (via Seoul). While it is a bit on the pricey side, it has far more amenities and less stress than the alternatives. I can have a substantial meal, a few nice drinks during happy hour at the bar, a nap, a spa treatment, or simply wear myself out in the pool so I can sleep on the plane more easily (or that's the plan at the very least).
Kudos for pointing me in the right direction!

Thank you for the video, we're heading to BKK soon and our flight arrives 23 hours before we can check into our hotel downtown Bangkok . This will be an amazing yet affordable place to spend time.

Hi there , thanks for the great video. We’re thinking of doing the same thing - we have a 10 hour overnight layover in BKK on our trip from Auckland to Ho Chi Minh. Can I ask if you had to pay departure tax (apparently 700 baht each) when you went back through customs after your layover? Our tickets will be from Auckland to Vietnam and so not sure whether we’ll have to pay the tax if we enter Thailand. Thanks :)

+Nick Duirs Hi Nick! Thanks for watching the video! We had two layovers in Bangkok and entered Thailand both times. We did not need to pay any taxes or fees either time. FYI when you go through immigration, you will need to put a Thai address on the entry form. We put “Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel” and didn’t have any problems. Let us know if you have any other questions! Happy travels!

Hi , Thanks for sharing the useful info. May I ask you about the layover flight, are you apply for any visa (Transit Visa) before leave the airport and go to the hotel. I have 12 hours layover for the next flight in BKK... but i donno how the procedure if I want to leave the airport (to get hotel) for 12 hours connecting flight. Thank you very much

Hi! Thanks for watching our video! When we left BKK airport and headed to the hotel, we did have to go through immigration and received transit visas upon arrival (this may however differ according to your nationality and/or airline). Just make sure to put a Thai address on the entry form at immigration. We put “Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel” and didn’t have any problems. Let us know if you have any other questions! Happy travels!

i'm planning to book this hotel for a 10hrs stopover.do you have to apply for a transit visa prior to arrival and before custom?

Hello Ngoc Cao! We went through immigration at BKK airport without pre-applying for a transit visa. It was all upon arrival! This may differ however, depending on your nationality. Just make sure to put a Thai address on the entry form at immigration. We put “Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel” and didn’t have any problems. Let us know if you have any other questions! Happy travels!

Chinese owner hotel, not worth the price , my flight usually at 7 am departure and I took taxi at 4 pm from the hotel . You can stay at the city but not too deep into the city . You can get to the airport in 30 mins

that hotel is known for just gouging tourists for convenience. Not a friendly place. One can go into town and stay for much less than you did.

While the price is a bit higher than hotels in town, we found that the difference wasn’t that much. We were in transit and didn’t have time to venture out of the airport so the hotel was a perfect place to rest and relax between flights!
