Great series. A queen bed is a monster challenge in my future, probably next year and while the style will be different I'll be using a lot of the construction techniques here. Cheers Paul, very very useful set of videos.
+Bill D I don't have a particular rating for them, but I'd imagine they could be threaded in and out hundreds of thousands of times without noticeable wear - it's a metal on metal connection.
I'm guessing he meant "pull/strip out of the wood". I've wondered that, too, particularly as hard as one might be inclined to crank down on bed frame bolts.
The external thread is very coarse, so it'd hold up for many *many* years to come I'd imagine. The bracket that wraps around on the headboard actually holds it up very well by itself. It can only slide in one direction. This makes for less load on the threaded inserts. However, if they were to fail, I'd drill out the existing hole, glue a dowel in, redrill&reinsert and get a few more years out of the inserts
Beautiful project. Really like the way it turn out.
Very cool Paul, very cool.

Wow, that looks outstanding. Great job.
Awesome job with this bed. I really enjoyed it!
Thanks for sharing the info. I was curious about that part of the build. I love the style of furniture you built.
Great video, love the hand tools you used. Do the threaded inserts strip out over time?

Ahh, great point! Thanks!
Now you need some new bedside tables to match!
+Jason _ believe me, its on the list, just health has been a concern. At least I got a bedside lamp done a month ago!
Great job. Take care of yourself first... I love your work, but I rather see you get healthy.
Great job and excellent video series. Prefer a real project to "Workshop updates" any day.
Sorry, I meant the part that goes into the wood frame
