Worked but I had to edit one other file. I followed your instructions but hw_boardinfo was being reverted back to original bharti values after resetting the ont even when I verified multiple times that the files were actually modified. Then I noticed another file customize.txt inside the jffs2 folder which had 'COMMON BHARTI' inside it. I changed that to 'COMMON COMMON' and finally it unlocked the firmware. It seems like my version of the firmware had a script which overrote hw_boardinfo value from customize.txt.

kindly check the 01(initial state), i have epon connection, in that its not automatically goes to epon, when i fix it to mode-2 it works fine.
it will be great help if you find the way to detect the epon/gpon OLT in auto mode.

Hello , the procedure works and all but a single model I tried everything. plus the following model to no avail. can you help? HG8245W5-6T and its sister HG8245W5-6T v2 were successful, but the HG8245W5-6T r20 version with red skin was not possible.

Hello there , as operator check code was enabled in OLT and one of the ONT was registered there but now that ont cannot be used in other OLTs and i want to reset the ont back to normal mode , tried changing the firmware but didnot worked , ont does not transmit the TX power so i guess the lock is set in hardware but i had no idea where i can edit it , could you suggest any help.

I don't have the same options on "Device Access Control". What should I do?
Create a backup..and edit it to enable telnet and restore router with modified backup file..now u will be able to telnet..
