Its surprising that a person in tertiary education is considered as an adult but still the parents standing is the main reason a student cannot get a loan. NSFAS need to be on merit of any "adult" student. The parents are paying upto 40% tax but their children are not considered for the loan. The government need to make the loan on merit. These students are legally adults why is it important who their parents are.
