Best way to play this game is 3 player hotseat. 4 is too much, 2 is ok but there is no cooperation between weaker players. - 3 teams, each buy, equip and move their own mercs. - negotiations about which sector to move, how the loot must be divided, hirings and some trades between players. - your money is 1/3 of total money. if you wanna spend some you write it on the list of paper. calculate average between 3 columns of spending now each player has + or - to that average. so total current money divided by 3(number of players), + or - that number we calculated just before is your available money to spend. - Save-load is allowed any time but you have to stay an extra 24 hours in the same sector.
Nice one. I just complete kind of a "Jagged Alliance time speedrun" myself. I didn't try to have the real fastest way with all that sneaking etc., and I made 1 IMP merc that I used. To get the best possible stuff I did go to Drassen and waited for Bobby Rays shipment to arrive. Then had a straightest possible route I knew (through the "labyrinth" + secret passage), but most of the battles I really fought, usually at night. It's so fun to fight those 1 vs 30+ battles with super silent weapons like FAMAE SAF Silenciada. I also repaired items and had the character to sleep. That way it took to Day 4, 21:13 in Jagged Alliance time. While that's not a real speedrun at all, it's like 10+ times faster than normally. Obviously the game is best enjoyed slowly.
u cant do this in 1.13. Complete silence is extremely hard as enemies will flank you. The AI works like this as to attack where you dont look (and with 1 merc only you cannot prevent this)
You usually take a pretty big hit to merc motive, and many will quit if you retreat from too many battles, but I guess Magic is built differently. Or doing them in quick succession without seeing gun-fire mitigates that disadvantage.
You really didn't notice this possibility? I thought that this has to be the way to exploit and do speed running in ja2. But I definitely wanted to see that last map. I knew Magic was tough, but not this tough 😂 I love it in the end when npc's are like "Look, it's them!" 😂
Last two sectors be like last kilometer of a Marathon. Running on empty, only relying on water bottles to maintain stamina, pulling through and finishing it... But how did Deidranna not hear two explosions directly next and in her bedroom? 😂

I was always confused whether you can put your soldiers at the opposite side of the map, than you've entered. xD PS: I believe it is not how the game was intended to be played. xD
Incredible, took me a week or so shortest run to finish the game. Including many reloads. How come the queen doesn't see/attack you after you enter the palace with the second LAW?
She's not hostile to the player when spawned, you're expected to storm the palace and there's a scripted event where she retreats to the underground bunker. Blowing your way in bypasses this script and neutrals generally don't go hostile until you hit them a few times. If she was hostile then her AI would result in attacking the player or getting an interrupt as she makes her escape to the bunker, allowing you to skip the final gauntlet.

Despite being one of my favorite childhood games, I never actually was able to finish it (those tanks were too hard for me), so quite shocking to see someone complete in 10mins what I tried to complete in probably 10k hours
Funny how in this game the speedrun is the more realistic way a mercenary would do it. Personally I would have it lead to a bad ending for Arulco, not that a true merc would care...
I'd love to do that ending. But from my research, it may take longer due to setting up the trap. Capturing the prison is not necessary, you just have to surrender a second time while trying to capture it.

This is something that they fixed in JA3. You can speed run that game very fast as well, but you get a dogshit ending for it.
Is this faster than getting imprisoned in N7 and going into Meduna from there?
probably because the dialog is about 7 minutes long? and you need to escape successfully?

I'd love to do that ending. But from my research, it may take longer due to setting up the trap. Capturing the prison is not necessary, you just have to surrender a second time while trying to capture it.
