Climbers are nutz! I lost a friend climbing in Yosemite in 1973. He was the best friend of my husband, and both had graduated that year; he was m best friend’s brother,. It was his 18th birthday, nand the group of guys, led by Brian the birthday boy, decided to free climb “Sunnyside Slope”. I’m not sure what happened, but Brian fell 150 feet and died. It was quite a sad situation, and the hardest thing I ever had to do was sing at his funeral without crying....but I did it! Now, when ever we have visited Yosemite, it’s a bittersweet trip, but the beauty is a reminder of God being in charge of HIS plan.😇

Coming to Yosemite this summer with kids and staying at Tenaya. Thank you for sharing your experience there as it helps me as we plan our 2 day stay!

When you live in Fresno, it’s a little over an hour from door to gate....it’s not a bad drive at all, and once you’re in Oakhurst, then Fishcamp and then the gate! I hope you all decide to come back to the Sierras and visit places like Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks! And Redwood National Park on the Northern Coas If Sonoma Mendocino Coast. I was wondering, with all the miles of hiking in new gear, who had blisters? I learned my lesson as a teenager, always break in your shoes or boots before hiking! Otherwise you’ll have blistered feet, and knowing that will save you from utter misery and discontemt🎯🙀😎🚩🚧😎
