Bro don’t sweat it , the world is bigger than the military , you will be alright trust me . I was kicked out the Air Force in 2004 , I turned out great . It ain’t the end of the world , screw the military
I’m 42 now but went into the USMC in 1999 fresh out of high school. Long story short I found myself extremely homesick, depressed, anxious etc. They didn’t let me quit at Paris Island. At combat training at Camp Geiger I got an uncharacterized discharge, entry level separation, RE4, for failure to adapt. I basically insinuated that I was going to go AWOL or off myself to get out. Idk why I couldn’t mentally hack it. I still don’t understand why I was so homesick when all I wanted was to go away. To this day I feel guilt and shame. Anyway, I eventually came out on top. I have a great career, wonderful wife, three healthy kids, single home etc. KEEP MOVING FORWARD no matter how many times you fall.
I got the same discharge as you and reenlistment code of 4 and I feel you on this heavy. From a vet to all my other vets out there and to you as well man, just keep manifesting, praying and putting your mind to it. I feel you. I left the Corps in 2003, and I still want to do things, but it's like every year of civilian life drains more and more of my initiative & motivation. I know Jesus forgives, but how the hell do I forgive myself - even though I never did anything that bad. It's so strange. Can anyone relate to that?
I haven't done social media for a lotta years, even then I was rarely on it - I've always had an old soul, so I just don't get the appeal. I was Medically Separated from the Corps, for something small physical liability from injuring myself. I was all about it, though. I was a complete mess for too many years, but I found a career and seem normal, I guess. But it takes A LOT of effort to just appear regular, as every single day is a constant tiring slog, while always bearing this large, heavy, wet, uncomfortable load - that I haven't yet identified. It kind of feels like I'm not doing what I'm SUPPOSED to be doing... but I have no idea what that could be. Every day simply feels 'off' to me somehow. But how have you been holding up? @@chosentv1

Your words here are so important and everything I and others needed, and I will pass these words on. thank you. stay the course. Got thrown out of the navy after getting caught up with a girl in the barracks over some stupid shit during covid right after graduating corps school. sep date was Mar 14, 2022. everything felt like a lucid fever dream. had aspirations to do so much in the navy. I'm 23. lived homeless for a while. have a RE-code 4. want to serve. spent almost everything I've been making on submitting to a discharge review board, they made no changes, I'm appealing the decision. its just me. fighting a war of my own, alone. currently, the film Oppenhimer released recently, and in the movie there was a short scene between oppenhimer and einstein that struck me. einstein explains to Robert, how he fled from his country, and now that after oppenhimer has served the US, if this is the reward his country offers, than maybe he should do the same. i realized, the US military is not the only military, and have started renewing my passport, contemplating a life having served within the Canadian forces, or French Legion. its insane to me that in the US, the statistics say the majority of homeless are either addicts and/or veterans. its insane that the military recruits primarily very young men, young men can make stupid decisions, though some of witch are not illegal out side of the military, its insane these/us young men aren't given second chances, or that there aren't more systems to increase service member retention, especially now as they are starving for men. and its incane that in many cases, young men become unemployable, and lose more rights than they had at birth even though they made the choice the enlist. its insane that the military still separates its members for pot use, wich has been legalized in many states now, a non adictive and non harmful yet beneficial substance, but is fine with alcohol, a very addictive intoxicating, family and life-destroying, mind and body degrading, drug, increasing in more poor choices by young men. its insane. I pray for every man in this world today.
