      The sound of freedom.. I have listened to all sorts of archival footage of H-53 helicopters and that whine has always sounded legendary!

    looked like the HM-12 ramp. I was aircrew, in the D models.

      We actually launched and recovered from the V-1 helipad at HM-15, but HM-12/ 14 are just next door across the bay!

      @@photo01aviation I think that was where the sleds used to be. we were in the SP hangers, and 14 and 16 were in the LP hangers. late 70's to mid 80's
