Been wanting to see Kafka and 4 star DOT for a while. Should I get Robin E1, or pull for Aventurine rerun, or get Kafka for variety? I also have Ruan Mei, maybe that could help despite not having Black Swan or JQ? Or is it not worth it, and I should just focus on vertical building both my current main lineup?
If you like playing DoT, Kafka may be the character you want to pull since she's mainly a DoT DPS. Black Swan and Jiaoqiu can be replaced by Sampo and Guinaifen. They may not deal the same amount of damage as the 5* but the 4* characters in HSR are sufficient and strong enough as long as you build and utilize them correctly. Since you have Ruan Mei, maybe you can put Kafka, Sampo, Gallagher, and Ruan Mei for a DoT + break team
If you really like her you can go with Sampo/Guinaifen and Ruan Mei, she will clear endgame content that she can use the buff but it'll be hard when you can use the buff too much. It's better to use your pulls in another character or eidolons in a more powerfull character than her if you want to clear endgame easly. But if you just like her too much go for her and then wait for the next DoT support/BS

if you dont have a lot of characters i say you got for many different 5stars e0, and after you have a lot of desired characters then go for eidolons

GO with Kafka Gui Tingyun/Pela and Huohuo. Tingyun is probably better in gereral but against ice weak enemis pela can be pretty good too
