Thank you so much for watching and for James and Rosa from Tap o' Noth Farm! We are working on the next video that features the incredible Lynbreck Croft! Best wishes, Huw Richards & Sam Cooper
Huw and Sam--you're doing amazing work. These films are lush, beautiful, inspiring and each tells a story. The cinematography and editing are top tier. Hope these get noticed and marketed to a wider audience (looking at you, Netflix!) 😉
Hi guys, im from Vietnam. We have a home forest farden where i grow different forest big wood trees, about 1,5 hecta. Around the house we grow vegies, herbs, fruit trees and keep some chickens, mostly for self consumption. We ve been doing this for 8 years. I hope to pass down the garden to my children, and hope they will appreciate it. Cheers from Vietnam!!
I'm also from Vietnam, Bac Lieu, having a small 500m2 applying agroforestry, aiming to have a bigger permaculture garden. Hope that I can connect with you to learn and share our passion
My wife and I are on twenty acres of woodland in SW Michigan, working to develop a permaculture designed homestead that integrates a range of forest agriculture and craft into a productive, regenerative system. Videos like this and the stories of other people doing similar things are immensely valuable as inspiration and encouragement, because one thing that this process is not, is easy ;)
Love this series on Agroforestry! It is great to see people trying to recover our planet. As someone once said, "There are no passengers on Spaceship Earth. We are all crew."
God bless you both in all of your endeavors! God created man and woman with the ability to steward the earth and he never took that away from us despite what the rest of the world seems to think.
Huw I love these great films you and Sam produce. The artistry and love of subject shine through. It’s a blessing to see the green beauty during the cold winter months
back in the 70s there was a tv show called The Good Life with Richard Briers and Felicity Kendal. about a couple who decides to throw out the modern world and basically turn their suburban home into a farm. all sorts of shenanigans ensue and if you have ever attempted farming of any sort you are bound to relate on more than a dozen subjects. it was a comedy back then, but it's becoming a reality for more and more people and honestly what little i know about Briers i have a feeling he's laughing at the irony of it all. it's a good show, and on youtube. look it up! might even give you some ideas. I took up farming 15 years ago but was already exposed to it by my grandparents when i was really young. i just never had my own patch of land to do anything. we have all the usual farm animals including a couple of cows and their calf. this year we added honey bees and i reinstated my geese. i used to have a small gaggle of them but sold them. missed them terribly after five or six years...so i bought five goslings back in march. they're not honking yet but they do strut around like royalty and i love it... probably going to get rid of the turkeys. i have officially decided i am not a fan. and i want to cut back on chickens and do more with quail and pigeons. it IS a good life though. at this moment i have a fridge full of milk from my goats and cow, i have fresh eggs, and home grown pork. i could absolutely make homemade scotch eggs and they ACTUALLY be homemade because it all came from my homefarm. i have so much milk but only one person outside my family is willing to come get it. i end up feeding the extra to my chickens or pigs 🙄 i would much rather give it to friends. but they've all been trained to reject it. like i said, been doing this 15 years. 15 years of raw milk, raising my kids on it, no one has died. only thrived. I would love to see more people do this on whatever spot of land they can. if you have access to dirt you should be able to grow something to eat. people grow house plants in the city, college kids used to grow weed in their closets.... you can certainly grow tomatoes in your apartment if you really wanted to!! and a goat takes up as much room as a dog - depending on the breed, large or small. and they will happily landscape for you for free, AND they make clean fertilizer AND milk which also makes cheese. and they don't bark or bite people. ducks are a red meat and more sustainable than beef. their eggs are higher on the alkaline scale which is great if you're on a cancer diet. pigeons and rabbits kept families alive during famines(pigeons also feed themselves and breed rapidly) A lot of the plastic in the ocean was once wrapped around food.... but if you grow it yourself, or if you go to a local farmer and pick it yourself, there is no need for all that trash. that alone should motivate people.
I'd love to turn my home into something like this, a mini version of it of course. I love ducks they're cute and useful, goats too. And having greens that can produce fruits would be so great
Hey Y'all, What a fantastic video. To see folks creating, working and living a life of permaculture and agroforestry is so inspiring. The animals are a combination of coworker commodity. They are living their best life of health and nutrition as well as fresh air and sunshine. When humans understand the nature of an animal and use the animal to work for them it is imperative to know when the job is complete and stop them before they continue until they cause damage. The damage being the fault of the human for not stopping them as animal are animals after all. Blessing on you both, your family, and your farm. Bye for now
To see your success has given me mord inspiration and foresight to transform the family farm here in Devon. Well done and thank you for sharing your experience.
What a lovely film! I hope that you have more coming. I love seeing the personalities and philosophies of people doing this kind of thing. Beautifully made and beautifully told.
Absolutely beautiful video. The professionalism is superb. No nonsense, phenomenal videography, valuable entertaining content, and great music! Thank you guys for your hard work and perseverance. I hope to see this channel get the following it deserves. God bless 🙏🏼
You two are so Blessed to have acreage as you do! Question: How much time do you spend with the goats every day? Do you need to milk them every day? How long does that take? Do you make cheese from the milk? What happens when/if the goats eat up all the branches they can get? Do you have a better wooded area, or a de-nuded one? You have four goats, by my count. How many goats do you require per person? Do/can you sell any of the goat milk? Your dog really gets excited when he senses that there are animals to herd! (Which is his function, by his breed.) Great video -- this is where my heart is also, but I now live urban.
Hi there! Thanks so much for watching and your kind words. You've got quite a few questions there and as you can imagine we get a lot of questions asked of us, so we have come up with a way of managing such questions and the time it asks of us - www.patreon.com/tapfarm - there is a tier called Tap Chat where we can answer any questions or help with any consultancy. a word that defines your channel: amazing. when the notifications of your work arrive, I'm sure it will be worth watching. your content always shows much more than the images! you can see his dedication and love for what he does, always wanting to make his followers satisfied. thank you very much for the beautiful work. God bless you and your family 🙏 a big kiss from Brazil 🇧🇷👍😘
I’m from North of Inverness now living in the Pacific Northwest and using log hive beekeeping to introduce your ideas here. More flora less commercialized bees.
I really like what Rosa said about instead of keeping environmental land the same... As we know land either improves or gets less productive... I think the msg Rosa is sharing about improving land and not leaving it the same is what all environmental gov departments should be thinking about... I mean some land was tropical rainforest and they want to hold it in its less than rainforest capacity.... That imo is wrong... Land should always be improved... For example the amazon jungle was previously a manmade permaculture living entity... Look up terra preta....lets stop this conservation of leaving land the way it is.... Also alot of the animals that were in these areas previously are no longer there to maintain the conservation areas...
This is exactly what I need to see please keep up the good work. Also to any readers is there any other channels or resources i could learn more about regenerative farming and combining live stock with produce effectively Thanks
Hello! Great videos! Did you decide to move away from duck egg farming? I loved your video a year ago about duck egg farming. We also had khaki campbell’s for egg farming but we could not keep the eagle predators away and kept loosing hens to the eagles. They seemed to know which ducks were hens and preferred them over the drakes. I was hoping you found a way to successfully farm khaki’s.
Bonjour! Superbe série sur les semis ;) Que faire lorsqu'ils ont filé? J'ai particulièrement des difficultés avec les laitues. Je ne peux pas baisser la température et je suis coté nord...
Although I'm in the USA, I'm also interested in passing my farm to someone interested in carrying on with it. Have you found any organizations that match owners up with upcoming farmers? I want more than temporary interns, someone looking for their farm home.
Many of these farms are do inspiring but they (are) small scale units - nothing wrong with that. However, it would be fascinating to see the journey of say a 150-200 acre or so unit transform into a permacultural large scale commercial venture from typical traditional farming units, be they livestock, grain or commercial vegetables units. I think it is really important to be able to show that it's perfectly feasible to be able to do this on a large scale and still have it be profitable, indeed, more profitable. Agricultural production drastically needs to change if we're to continue to feed the world, repair ecosystems, increase soil carbon sequestration & restore soil health.
