I’m the person riding on the Onewheel electric skateboard thing when you’re getting off the ferry! I live on vashon now but lived in Tacoma at the time, so all the more rare to spot myself. Thanks for the experience
Many thanks! I am glad you liked it, I could ride the ferry everyday, especially once covid over and the galleys are back open. Nothing better than a drink and food while crossing the Puget Sound!
Thank you, this video is very helpful! I'll be crossing in mid-June for my first trip to Vashon. But I didn't see you buying your tickets. Did you purchase them ahead of time online?
May-October has the best weather, the rest of the year is wet, cold, and snowy. Just be aware that May and October are transition months, some years are better than others. If you don't mind some rain April/May is when the flowers and rhodies bloom, very fun to see if walking around or visiting any gardens.
It is a Chevy Colorado diesel short bed crew cab. Getting a rack system and platform tent soon. So excited to really get out in nature once that is done! Highly recommend the truck, infotainment system and ride are outstanding, 30-34 mpg on the highway at 60 mph.
We have millions of full time RV people in this country, IMO they only are considered homeless once they lose the means to travel around and are stuck in one place. Most have pensions, social security, or savings that they are living off of and seeing the country.
Thank you for this video. I have severe anxiety and going by myself to Vashon today. This is helpful to visualize what to expect.
It is a fun ferry ride, have a great day! Super friendly people on Vashon :)

You are welcome, those Onewheel contraptions look hard to use!
Another gorgeous sunny day, nice trip and good overview of the whole ferry boarding process and trip. L5

Thank you, it was a really nice day with a high around 80!

You are very lucky, what an awesome place to live!

We bought them at the booth, one of the last cars to get on :)
@@AmericanOutbackAmazing where is the booth
@Jonathan Avila if your driving to vashon by a ferry from tacoma you'll have to drive through the car booth to even get in line.
Is spring good time to visit.?

How long was the ride ?
It is one of the shorter routes, probably about 20 minutes.
It’s about 10 minutes from dock to dock, so probably 15 if you’re one of the first cars on and waiting for them to finish the load.
What kind of vehicle do you have?

@@AmericanOutbackAmazing more mpg than I thought thank you I have a 4Runner trail edition so all set for an off road vehicle
Nice, do you have a winch? For starters I think I will get some MaxTrax.
This is NOT the TACOMA, it's the SALISH. (not that it matters.)
I mean the ferry from Tacoma. Vashon also has ferries from Fauntleroy and Southworth.
Picks the best place to park because he is an avid camper not just a homeless dweeb everyone .
