Hey!! Do you not know that in the old testament times, God reveals Himself to the prophets to warn His people and encourage them to be faithful to Him but the messages went un-heeded. Likewise, even in the New-Testaments, God(Holy Spirit) revealed Himself to His Apostles. Read Bible

And, the warnings in the old testament was not to destroy them but to make His people repent(transform) from their evil doings and remain faithful to Him(God) N.B:-Read the book of prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel..... If I don't believe these prophecies, I would rather not oppose to these.
