Gather a full field of vegetables one by one by hand. This is not the idea I had of a 30th century space sim ... At least they do not have put Kopian to kill everywhere.
NON pew pew gameplay is FAR more interesting to me than CIG's relentless urge to shove combat into every corner of 'Risk vs. Reward' multiplayer mandated game design. So I was pleasantly impressed by this softer set of gameplay loops intended for Pyro of all places. This presentation gave me a cupful measure of hope for a version of Star Citizen's Persistent Universe that will actually hold my attention. Contrast this with the Distribution Center video wherein the pew pew was showing up around every corner. My interest in those Distribution Centers being in a straightforward fashion with no gunplay involved. So color me impressed with this early view of farms, equipment repair, and even the factions portrayed herein.
No matter what, Pyro will be about too many players being jerk and destroying everything they see and touch. It's a noble and good try to make social gameplay _opportunities_ there, but that's just going to fold because of the ..not-so-social players. Or, well, they are social, in the sense that they clearly look to interact. Just not the way others might want to be interacted with.
True ! I'm not affraid by Pyro's gang but by some sociopath "PVPers" who absolutely don't care about the beauty of the places CIG have built, and will be there only to destroy everything. 24h after the release, there won't be a single npc left alive throughout the system.
100% it’s going to be for murder hobos and when PvE people stop going PvPers and griefers will stop going. Any MMO will tell you historically people go where the masses go and easiest to use. Look at Ironforge in WoW how it became rarely used vs Stormwind. Or any other city really.

Love that each area can be so different. That is very important to me so the verse feels alivw. Great job to all at CIG. Love these videos. I'm curious about that too. I thought Pyro 1 & 2 were suppose to be near uninhabitable; meaning, they were suppose to have enclosed outposts/bunkers with radiation shielding, at least that was my impression.
that scrap yard landing bay is everything i hoped for from a outdoor landing pad. would be really cool if there were other pads close by and if random players didnt pad ram. the atmosphere from that would be soo cool
Criticism: You show us the Reclaimer landing and talk about ship components for "any" ship, when pretty much all the ship components of this ship and many other large ships can not be switched by hand or even be brought into the appropriate locations within the ship.
The Reclaimer was an ambitious design that ended up being kind of a dud in execution. It shows why building the ship before the gameplay was a bad idea.
What did we learn this week? We learned that Jared is *not* on good terms with the Head Hunters (unless they put him in that cage as a 'jolly jape') I am happy with this video because, despite not being a fan of combat, I always intended to try to make a living in Pyro by avoiding trouble and looking for good trading opportunities.

In early 2014, over 10 years ago, I began my relationship with Star Citizen. One of the main reasons I got involved in this relationship, spending several hundred dollars to purchase a few spaceships, and thoroughly enjoying the graphics and imagination that this project offered to its fans, was because it served as a driver for my imagination and my love for everything related to space. Another aspect of this relationship was the promise made by the project leaders that VR would also be integrated into the game. "Oh my God," I told myself, "this will be amazing!" As of today, after more than a decade, when every self-respecting game is also presented in VR, only Star Citizen lags behind and disappoints a large portion of its fans.
