One of the things you can expect to find in the comments when a Euro car is reviewed: "Not reliable, buy a Toyota". Look -- most people interested in buying/leasing a European luxury vehicle are not going to cross-shop for a Toyota. They just aren't. It's not like they will keep these premium cars for 20 years. When you go to Europe, you'll see people driving Audis, Volvos, Peugeots, Renaults, Seats, VWs, Skodas, and guess what... they are all perfectly fine. What's the obsession with Toyotas on TH-cam?

because people with big followings like to praise toyota and tell everyone that they are soooo reliable, which they may be, but the key to a reliable car is just taking care of it which not enough people do. If you take care of you’re 8 year old dodge journey, it will be just as reliable as a 25 year old toyota camry with 500K miles.

I mean, you are getting far more for the money by going with a Toyota or a Honda. With that said, if you have money to burn & are willing to accept the risk/cost that come with owning a German made vehicle, then go for it.
I’m thinking about buying my first Euro car (2021-2023 Audi Q5), but discussions on reliability is keeping me on the fence.
Is there anything I should consider or look for prior to buying one? I’m definitely going to do a pre purchase inspection if it isn’t certified used.

I got my 2024 audi q5 sport back and I love it. I like the classic look and I really wanted a car with buttons and not just touchscreens.
Buy a 2 yeat old with low miles in the low $30k's. Silly to pay this kind of money. How do I know? I just bought a loaded one with 16K miles for $33K. The 45 2.0 engine has plenty of power. I do not feel the car is underpowered. It is quiet, timeless looking, and BO Sound is INCREDIBLE. I would not pay $60K for a new one. Whether we are talking BMWs or Audis. Let someone else get to spend it. The SQ5 is super special too, but the upkeep will be higher just like any other higher performance version of the same car

I like the MMI position where it is at. All this talk about distracted drivers looking at screens, it’s placement is in a better line of sight to not take your eyes off the road looking down had it been placed lower. You can look at the screen and your peripheral vision will still allow visibility of what’s around you

My spouse has a 2019 Q5. That bin in front of the shifter was the trackpad before Audi went to a touchscreen infotainment system. It feels like they cheaped out by just leaving the hole where the trackpad used to be.

My Q5 S-line 2024 arrives in May. I got the progress plus package. It has heated and cooled cup holders plus a wireless charging pad.
What about safety features like number of air bags in the front and back seats?

The Q5 is the most " I want it because it's an AUDI " kind of purchase. Simply does not have enough going for it to warrant a 50K starting (Premium Plus) price tag. Severely under-powered & has a DCT which will have mechanics jumping for joy when it comes time to deal with the problems it'll have.
Severely underpowered? 0-60 in as low as 5 secs. And the dct is great…Audi is well know for that dct…same brand that owns Porsche yk…
I’d give that to the q3.
@@bradleyscarreviews To get that, you're looking at an OTD price of 60K on the lower end. That's before the markups & optional packages kick in. The base Premium Plus model isn't doing 0-60 in 5 secs. It barely gets in under 7 seconds. My initial statement stands.

I've had a 2022 Q5 Edition 1 from new and it has never flickered. I have the Audi service plan which is £23 a month and its first service was covered by the service plan, its second service with brake fluid change was also covered by the service plan. Like any other car on the road, if you look after it and get it serviced you'll be ok. Audi's are built like tanks, fun to drive, fast and very reliable. Its only the folks in the good old US of A that have an obsession with Toyota's, as we English and most Europeans find Toyota's boring, dull and not much fun. In the comments below I read that German cars are a risk, well what a load of bull shit that is. Personally I think some Americans are frightened by Euro cars and really don't want to buy a Toyota but do so and make excuses like reliability to justify their purchase.
Great review guys! I have a Q5 and I really love it. Plenty of power and I love the styling and interior. I agree with you about the storage and my other gripe is that the arm rest in the driver's door is so far away that it basically useless. Keep the great videos coming!

absolutely the same interior as my 2021 SQ5. Although, a surprising thing you left out, when you fold down the back seats, you often have to move the front seats forward. Actually a huge pain. Is it a deal breaker? No, but so scuffed to have to do that each time. Also, good luck putting your phone anywhere. I have tried two different phone mounts and because of the textured top of the dash, it wont stick at all. I have no idea what they are thinking with that minimal side slot, but I have NOWHERE to put my phone and it pisses me off constantly. All those gripes aside, I love my SQ5 more than anything non-human in my life. Such a sick car, and if the new Q5 gets basically all of the bells and whistles of the SQ5 Prestige, go for it
Just get a phone holder that you can affix to the ac slats... I found one on Amazon and it works great! 👍🏻😉👍🏻

@@JoseCastillo-hl3vl I would go with the Audi. The Audi and Genisis get you a lot more for your money; the Audi will not age as quickly as the Genesis.

I have this car and love it. BUT - there is one major issue. I was rear ended a month into receiving the car. Audi was unable to provide parts for the car. They’re simply not manufacturing them. So, just be forewarned that if you need parts or repairs, your car may not be usable. Fortunately for me, I went to an Audi certified collision shop who was able to repair the part and make it like new after three months of waiting for the part. If it wasn’t for that, I think I would have gone another six months without the car.

Cheap Looking INFOTAINMENT looks to be clued on and is small....Get a LEXUS NX w/ 14" Much more power and Plug in!
Prestige or Presitge?
I cross shopped this but with the prestige package. I also cross shopped an XC60 ultimate and an NX350 luxury. I ended up buying a 2024 Subaru outback touring XT and saved between $20-25,000 (got $4,500 under MSRP).

Traded in my Honda Accord for a 2020 Q5 (45 TFSI) last year and I have absolutely 0 regrets 8 months later. Actually my only regret is not getting an SQ5.
wth is the point of the fancy instrument panel unless ur a child or constantly looking down which is not safe. makes all those instrument panel features obsolete

This is nice but why would I spend about 100k for this when my 2023 top spec CX5 turbo cost 60k. My CX5 has all the bells & whistles, drives exceptionally, low maintenance costs, very reliable, and looks great. An Audi may impress the neighbours a bit more but do I care about that, not really.
The interior are nothing alike. Not even comparable.

I bought a 2024 Q5 S line new and its been the worst car ive ever owned, clutch went out at 300 miles I have 10k on the car now its already had 8 warranty repairs done to it, Audi isn't what they used to be they are garbage now. trying to get it to bought back as a lemon and im going to go running to Lexus for reliability because this Q5 S line is far from reliable
radio quit workin
clutch went out
front drivers seat loose x2
quatro clutch went out
rear diff was vibrating
ac went out
belt tensioner broke
the CV joint fell apart
and more all within 10,000 miles most of this happened before my first oil change
So stale now. That random giant hole by the shifter and iPad has to go
