Your room looks so organized I wish I could get mine done and organized well thank you for sharing and sharing the mistakes I'm excited to try this for Christmas gifts for my grillers
Thank you for the comments. I learned a long time ago that I just couldn’t function without being organized. It certainly makes it easier to find things. We moved again a couple of years ago and my craft room was what sold the house! As for the engraving, practice using Dollar Tree pieces. 😉
Thank you SO SO much for showing your mistakes as part of the video. So many people make videos that eseentiall says "Do this, this and that and hey presto here is a result" but when you come to do it yourself its not so simple. For me the mistake is as much of a learning experience as the rest of the video
I’m so glad to have run across this gem! I really enjoyed the “learn with me, we’ll make mistakes together “ tutorial ❤ Such a breath of fresh air and your willingness to be vulnerable helped me feel comfortable and confident enough to try this myself, unlike the “done this a thousand times so it’s a breeze for me but good luck to you” tutorials that leave me feeling okay about trying it then stumbling and going into freak out mode because they made it look effortless. Thank you for a wonderful tutorial ❤
I’m so happy you enjoyed the video. I try to show the good, the bad and the ugly sometimes! That was my first attempt at engraving as well. 😀. Thank you for watching.
hi Kimberly thanks so much for your video really enjoyed it, I found the information in the video to be very helpful as I have just finally got myself a Cricut Maker3 and I got myself the quick swap tool with the Engraving tip and my Knife Blade, so your video really helped me, Once I have got my Machine out of the box. Have you tried the engraving Tip on Basswood was wondering if the engraving tip works on wood, will try this for myself, just got to buy some Basswood, I think I have some Metal Blanks in my crafty stash.
You’re gonna love your Cricut! I’ve used the engraving tip on Dollar Tree spatulas. I also used it on metal guitar picks. I haven’t done basswood. I’m sure it will work well. Just make sure you use a mm that will work with the machine. If it’s too thick, it can’t go under the rollers. 😊
Do you have a how to video on your cardinal cut out behind you? Would love to make this for my mom as her parents passed away and cardinals make her think of them.
Thank You so much for this. I've just got a Cricut Maker 3. Can I safely engrave Sterling Silver Dog Tags following your directions? Hugs from Scotland, UK ❤❤
Yes. I would try using the aluminum setting with “more” pressure. I would definitely practice first. Also, don’t be afraid to go over it twice. When the “cut” is finished and it wants you to remove your cutting mat, DON’T remove it. Hit the PLAY “GO” button again and it will go back over it again. Thank you for watching. Let me know how it turns out.
Cool little item, isn’t it? I found mine a few years ago. here is something similar to it on Amazon. Tool Organizer for Cricut Maker 3 & Maker, Cricut Blade Storage Accessories and Supplies for Cutting Blades, Cricut Machine Organization and Storage Tools, Knife and Blade Organizer (Blade Mod) a.co/d/4FPEaeq Thank you for watching.
I personally have not had great luck using it. I think it’s a feature that needs to be more user friendly. It’s very hard to get it to snap. Thank you for watching
I think that what you did was allow the machine to run when it sized the mat and then taped the utensils to the mat. If so, thanks! I will try this one for sure.!!!
Thank you for sharing. Coming from Australia we don't have as many choices of tools - could you advise what engraving tool/s you are using so I can source. Again thank you
So the question is, what file do you save the logo as?, for the Cricket to do the job, and you could of just bend the item, and bend it back after its done...
If you created the project you can save it as anything you would like. It would be an engraving. You would change a cut file (where you change colors of your project pieces) from basic cut to engrave. I would never try to bend my item. It would probably not bend and it would not be the same when bent back. Also, you might be selling these items and they could lose there strength from being bent. Thanks for watching
So cool, i use to have a cricut like almost 10yrs ago…. This newer version are amazing. Just wondering if needing to let the machine scan the mat 1st, then having to take it off to put the spatula, wouldn’t the machine want to scan the mat again🤔
If you want a deeper cut, duplicate the design 2-4 times, center designs then the Cricut will automatically engrave the design however many times you duplicated it.
So I am trying to engrave on dog tags. I am having a problem finding a font that will. Actually, the cricket will actually like write the letter out instead of just like you know making an outline of the letter. Does anybody know what font that might be?
Find one of the fonts that can be changed to writing. On design space look at where the font name is…next to it says style. Click it and see if your font can be changed to writing.
It’s the engraving tip. There are many tips depending on what you’re making. What a great idea. I might just make a video of just the tips and what you can do with them. Thank you

I completely agree. It was a mistake that might have been obvious to those who have engraved before. I was clueless. LOL. Thank you for watching.
Thank you for showing the mistakes you made and how your troubleshoot them! So much is a trial and error with new products!
thank you for watching. it’s always a learning lesson.
Thanks for the ideas. I will have to look around our $🌳& see what they have and practice.
I am glad you shared your mistakes to help us.
They will have lots of great items to work on.
Thanks for the video! Thank you for including the boo boo, and how you solved it. :)
Honestly we learn more from our mistakes.

Excellent video! Thank you❤
@nancydepiano3599 Thank you very much for the kind words.
I'm just trying this for the first time. I use to love to do vinyl and HTV, so here I go.
You got this!

Great question. I will TRY to make a video for you this next week. If not, it will be soon, I promise. Thanks for watching.
I’m going to make my bridesmaids gifts!🥰🤩

@@kimberlyanndesigns1 Thank You. I will, Hun
Great video! Where did you get that neat little drawer divider for your tips inside your machine? Thanks.

What about using the Pic Mat feature? I’ve never used that before but now I’m going to try it.
I personally have not had great luck using it. I think it’s a feature that needs to be more user friendly. It’s very hard to get it to snap. Thank you for watching
Which blade did you use? I need to buy engraving blade.
Its blade number 41. Cricut.com has it on sale this week for $13.99.
very interesting thanks im just learning this all and just got my maker 3
You are gonna love it
I think that what you did was allow the machine to run when it sized the mat and then taped the utensils to the mat. If so, thanks! I will try this one for sure.!!!
😉 you are correct! Thank you for watching

Glad you liked the video. The engraving tool is #41. Do you have Amazon or something like that? They sell Cricut accessories.
Yes we have access to Amazon etc. Thanks

@@kimberlyanndesigns1 Thank you... Blessings keep up the good work
Is there a Max high the utensils must not exceed?
You might have to check on the Cricut website. I know Dollar tree spatulas were perfect. The “harder” the metal, the harder it is to engrave
Thank you for the information!❤️
You are so welcome!
What kind of tape do you use?
I find painters tape works the best.
So cool, i use to have a cricut like almost 10yrs ago…. This newer version are amazing. Just wondering if needing to let the machine scan the mat 1st, then having to take it off to put the spatula, wouldn’t the machine want to scan the mat again🤔
No you can’t remove the mat because when you put it back in, it has to rescan the mat again.
@@kimberlyanndesigns1 so you're adding the spatula without removing/detaching the mat completely from the machine... Ok, Thanks :)
This is so awesome thank you for this video! ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
AWESOME video! Just got my engraving tip today!
Please slide your rollers out from under the spatulas, they’ll get damaged over time :-)
Thanks for the info!
This video is so helpful
I’m glad you liked it.
Where did you get that green tape?
It’s painters tape just like the blue painters tape.
Have you tried engraving knife blades?
Yes. I love it. You just have to make sure the materials can engrave well. I have a video on using the engraving blade. Thank you for watching.
is that the deepest possible engraving?
I would think you could adjust your pressure on the “blade”. Thank you for watching.
@@kimberlyanndesigns1 Thank you :)
If you want a deeper cut, duplicate the design 2-4 times, center designs then the Cricut will automatically engrave the design however many times you duplicated it.
@@tammya9770 Thank you Tammy :)
Where did you get the engraving tip?
Cricut sells it.
Also when looking at fonts to use for your projects, click the two little lines and click on writing and it will show fonts that will be for writing.
What kind of tip did you use? I don't understand why you have so many different Cricut tips. Do you have a video showing more detail?
It’s the engraving tip. There are many tips depending on what you’re making. What a great idea. I might just make a video of just the tips and what you can do with them. Thank you
Strange wont let me chose stainless?
which machine are you working on?
I’m always confused when it comes to the tools.
I hope this helped. If not let me know. 😉
