Allowing a tree to get root bound in order to promote aerial roots is an amazing tip for ficus species. Thank you Jerome.
Do you have plans to show any of your trees in the fall?
So I always thought after repot and root trimming you have to wait to fertilize a few weeks to a month.. Do I have that wrong? Lol
Nope not wrong, that is what most Bonsai expert say. Although with solid fertiliser it takes a while to be processed into the nutrients that the plant can take up. Still, I would have said wait 2 or 3 weeks as well.
It is more of a refinement thing. When your tree is very refined, wait until the first flush has hardened and then fertilize. If you want lots of explosive growth you can fertilize right away. This tree has lots of growing to do so fertilizing right away it is 🙂
