I love alternative Hip Hop and R&B. Yet, performing amongst the scenery of Habeesha culture would not make this Habeesha culture. This is especially true when the content is contrary to that culture. One that includes Orthodox Tewahedo and Islam. In the video she sports an off the shoulder and is dropping an F-bomb. Not saying the cursing, drinking, smoking, sex and the like don't happen in all cultures. It has been a apart of youth culture since antiquity. The youth of very ethnic group do it. Even with that said, we have to respect our cultures enough to not relate them to that which is "of the world" or just common in youth. So she is a Habeesha artist showing her Habeesha environment, but the content is not Habeesha. That is like saying Tiffany Haddish's content of work is Habeesha or Isa Raye's Insecure was Senegalese culture. No one would say that. Yet, they are still artists rhat deserve to be celebrated within their culture.
As a Pakistani girl, not only do I think your culture is beautiful, but this song really sits deep with me. We didn't have a lot of money growing up and I saw the strain it put on my parents (my dad specifically). He had a lot of anger and well he took it out on us. I always thought if we had money, maybe he wouldn't be so mean. I believe bc of this my relationship with money as a 21-year-old is so bad. But this song is showing me that I am not the only one in this struggle and that I too will prosper for my bloodline and my ancestors above God willing, Ameen. P.S. We share the same hair colour!
This is beautiful ! Folks need to stop arguing about Ethiopia Eritrean this and that she did a fantastic job representing East African culture. Should that not be the main goal putting Africa and Africans on the map . As a Congolese I’m soo happy to see this. Please let’s stay supportive and United .
This is ERITREAN culture. No one is clamming Amhara or Gala culture as ERITREANS. You all backward ETHIOPIANS always clamming ERITREAN culture as yours when it is not. BACK OFF YOU ALL FILTHY IMPERALIST GOONS
it sent me too bc it sounded so Kenyan - which was unexpected! We say that when we didn't catch what somebody said - it's like huh? . Beautiful celebration of ER/ET culture either way! ❤❤
Your vision is pure brilliance. The way you've fused Eritrean culture with hip-hop feels like a million dollars experience, giving voice to heritage in a powerful, fresh rhythm. Your artistry doesn't just capture attention-it connects deeply, inspiring pride and awe. You've created something exceptional and timeless. Truly honored to witness this level of talent!
This one is for our culture. I love it, love the details. I see the traditional attire, culture with all the coffee ceremony - Bun, the dance and up to the Nakfa money. Thanks for that. Love 🇪🇷
@CocoLove-c8e just in case you don't know, Rimon is Eritrean born and she is embracing the Eritrean culture.I love it. I'm here to love, embrace and support her. Nothing but love for Ethiopia and it's people. Cheers!
@KingstonRob What?! You Eritreas having Ethiopian culture including the coffee, the latter's, the clothes, Enjera,...because you have been colonized by ETHIOPIA
The curtains or ጨርቂ with patterns of flowers or plants at 1:36 behind them. For her to capture such a small detail in an Eritrean household really makes this MV ART❤
I still got the 5 nakfa my dad gave me when I was in my early teens, I always carry it in my wallet as a little lucky charm. Love to see she put a lot of the culture in the video, and the "ati" was just cherry on top.
