Genesis 49:5-7 ESV [5] “Simeon and Levi are brothers; weapons of violence are their swords. [6] Let my soul come not into their council; O my glory, be not joined to their company. For in their anger they killed men, and in their willfulness they hamstrung oxen. [7] Cursed be their anger, for it is fierce, and their wrath, for it is cruel! I will divide them in Jacob and scatter them in Israel.
I am a returning believer … not a bible scholar, however can: first Corinthians 2:14 support the message about marriage with unbelievers? (This happen to be Verse of the Day #NIV).
Maybe u need to clarify but there is absolutely nothing godly abt humans putting other humans to death, regardless of reasoning. Vengeance is God’s, not ours. I was already feeling uneasy and that was really the icing on the cake for me 🤷🏽♀️
Affirming the penalty of death for heinous crimes, especially murder, is 100% biblical and holds up the unique value of humanity and the glory of our Creator. Genesis 9:5-6 [5] And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: from every beast I will require it and from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man. [6] “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image.
