Yay! I've been waiting for more videos, thanks! True in Ohio the rate to compare is as low as $0.07/kwh, after transmission & distribution fees it typically comes out to around $0.15/kwh. This summer i throttled back my central AC and threw a 5,000 BTU in the window of the hottest room. Yes, as you said it draws about 450 watts according to the label. As you said it costs me about $26/month to run it for 13 hours a day. It has lowered my usage on my power bill by about 150-180 KWHs/month (compared to the same billing cycle last year). Thanks for posting again!!!!
I believe you can get fixed and variable compressors depending on your model, most cheaper portable acs have a fixed rate compressor which cool until a temperature is reached and the completely turn off leaving the fan running rather than being able to dynamically change the power input of the compressor
So how much for a 5000 btu 850w set at 69 degrees cooling a 150 SQ ft bedroom will be on all day/night cause the HVAC doesn't cool this room so it'll have normal cycle on/off times
4 hours a day yeah that’s not happening for me I’m in Florida in a mobile home plus I have to sleep during the day for my job it’s more like 8 hours a day.
