  • A team of doctors, researchers, and staff from both McMaster University and McMaster Innovation Park have pooled their time, talent, and contacts to help their friends and colleagues a world away in their efforts to battle COVID-19.
Close to $750,000 worth of donated materials, including masks, face shields, gowns, visors, and other much-needed equipment were loaded onto a shipping container at MIP’s Frid Street facility and are set to be shipped to Uganda.
The 46 skids of donations came from companies in three provinces (Ontario-based Niko, B.C.-based Vitacore, and Quebec-based Vestechpro); Goodwill Industries, Ontario Great Lakes; Campbell River Friendship Quilters; as well as St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and Hamilton Health Sciences. Fanshawe and George Brown Colleges donated time to research collaborations to produce better reusable cloth masks, which were included in the shipment.
