      Yes, i had been doing that since the first time i tried plastering, many years ago. Very satisfying and useful for tricky geometries. Works great when ultimate precision is needed too, i went down to less than 1mm precision over a 3m span.

    We bought one of those walkway molds about 6 years ago for a path that stretches about 100 feet. My husband did about two molds a day (before he went to work in the morning) for several days until it was finished. It still works really well. We didn't have to prep the surface much. So, it was less expensive than a traditional walkway and used fewer materials.

      In valleys, you rely on the rubber washer but you can over tighten and split the washer.

      Yeah, its complete horsecrap, simple as that. Neither is the production nor the product itself Eco friendly, at any strech of the imagination.
      Its also not recyclable. Its hazardous waste from beginning to end.
      The moment you tear down that house, are people really this dumb to say they recycle it? Thats a convenience Lie to make people feel better.
      Not to mention Styrofoam used to isolate the house walls will increase toxicity in nearby rivers and the groundwater, thats bad! Because Rain washes out the toxic material the foam is made of, at every rainfall, for the next 20 years. That is a hard life hazard FACT!

      I never used to wear fall protection walking steel until the mid 1990s. It was more luck than good management that I survived 3 or 4 close calls.
      Fall protection is now mandatory under many OH&S Acts............ it helps prevent people writing cheques their bodies can't keep............and I have worked with some very good riggers who are now dead or in a wheel chair with colostomy bags as a result of falling from heights.
      The fact of the matter is in situation where there is a risk of falling from height and other controls are not practicable, it is much better to end up being suspended in a harness by a lanyard than going splat........... provided there is a recovery rescue system in place............ and the person falling does not hit a solid object as they fall.
      Still, it is not a perfect world........... somebody I knew was killed when he fell 60 metres back around 2003. He landed across a piece of 150 mm angle and put a 450 mm bend in it.....One of the legs of his twin tailed lanyard broke............ the other was still hooked at the top of the tower.

    • @jeffreyeaton5214
      @jeffreyeaton5214 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Asbestos is actually only dangerous when inhaled. If you're not cutting, there's essentially no risk. If you are cutting, doing it in a well ventilated area with proper PPE, you're still safe. Most asbestos was actually phased out, not due to being dangerous, but because other more efficient/cheaper materials were discovered/invented to replace it. It's still used in some products to this day

    Since they're not in a country with people stupid enough to require a warning on the adhesive to not eat it, they don't have a nanny government that would require it.

    Interesting that none of the roofers were wearing or using any type of fall protection. Construction work is the most dangerous occupation in the world, and guess what kills or injures most construction workers? You guessed it right: falls from a height of 6’-0” or more! OSHA!

    • @waynegibbons352
      @waynegibbons352 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      maybe they were the homeowners redoing their roof, also it was likely a different country where the US OSHA is not in force

    • @ablemagawitch
      @ablemagawitch 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They mentioned Europe, so probably not the USA. Which the USA's construction industry has bad track record, although commercial industrial has gotten better. The home repair companies side however is borderline homicidal, were the last to actually require workers to wear safety gear. These companies and than workers are also the most likely to avoid following OSHA (and common sense) safety rules. It doesn't help here beside the industry attitudes, so have incentives and legal loopholes Special Exemptions if you have business under so many employees. So all their employee workers(by all other legal definitions) are called ""Independent Contractors"".... American Capitalism at its finest.
      If it was for wearing sunglasses through the 1990's , until they safety industry started making "cooler" looking safety glass, more eyes would have been lost.
      I'm from the USA and have worked many levels and many different industries and the attitudes are toxic as threats themselves. I've dealt with wanting to wear a safety harness ""you weren't ready to work at heights"" so you could only work lower paying ground only jobs. That from the skilled experience people teaching the younger crew. Being sober on job site is still an issue, that only maters when you get injured and have to pee as part of medical care and only then it matters because they can deny your claim of injury, no matter the cause.
      People also die from from fails off 3' -6' (1 meter to 2 meter for the "imperial impaired" folks) ladders, sometimes the angle of impact is just that bad. The lower end is barely enough for fall arrestor tether to engage.
      I always hated the "you have to tie off to hydraulic personal lift" that're they're going to move (illegally) type selective job site enforcement, but wouldn't let you put you tether around the structure steel, because if that has issues you're in categories of being screwed in ways no harness is going to save you...... A highlight was when OSHA INSPECTOR came through and caught them (they would never show up on the days you told them come walk in building when no was working and of course see no violations....as if they were trying not to catch bad people....) and fining the shit out of that building because the both personal lifts were left on. The inspector could see there safety panels showing if the out riggers indicators lights as if they were in place and which ones(all) were seated properly, meanwhile all out riggers were in storage on the back of the lift, no where near those switches. They didn't even use bypass blocks but blatantly they hardwired every out rigger to appear as if was properly placed and taking weight by the indicator circuits. This was one of the high dollar professional places with the Union. Which was just as bad if not worse on safety........
      Sadly Safety is a forever Bell Curve where we're trailing where we should be for safety. People fighting to drag workers up on the curve before they learn from experience that no one gives shit when medical bills come about what you did for the company..... You're nothing but unproductive liability to " be gone" as they say.
      Every safety rule is because lots of people died for them to finally act, but the attitude of "can't happen to me" is so invasive , we can't seem to kill it off.
