1:32 When I heard the Basilisk while I was wandering the halls, it always scared the shit outta me. it was always just so unexpected and I had no idea what to do because I didn't know what it was at first.
Yeah. Me too. It is was creepy in the book, but I was never able to imagine what the voice really sounded like. Then come the movie and game and poof, insta-horror.
They ought to do a remake of this or something, back in they days where Harry Potter games were Amazing!, I loved this game soo much, the Ps2 Version, the GBC version, the GBA and GCN version was bleh but i miss these games, Chamber of Secrets was always my favorite among the books and movies, they should bring these games back all nice and up to date one day in like an Anniversary collection, probably a hopeless dream but that's what gets us through eh, Nice Upload!
So having watched all 3 versions and having all the childhood nostalgia for this PS2 version, why are they all so different in their approach to killing the basilisk?
Much as I love the console games, they do seem so much shorter than the PC one. I mean, in the PC game the Chamber of Secrets was a huge dungeon that had to be navigated before you reached Riddle. The spell challenges are much longer too. But on the other hand the PC game has nowhere near as much room for open exploration, all those grounds and secret passages etc
I have to say that I am abit disappointed in the game itself o.o I thought it would have gone like how they made the first game, where it followed the book or film in order, but unfortunately they didn't really...The acting was bad too.... You'd think for a game, they'd make it just as dramatic as the film you know.... really sell it like they did with the music and the modelling, but instead it's like "we know what's going to happen, so why bother?"
This game is my childhood.
Same, this is the very first video game I ever played.
I love the music played, when the Basilisk comes.
9:15 Does anyone else hear that T-Rex roar?

Pfff! Hahahahaha! I'm sorry but Tom Riddle in this version looks so ridiculos! He looks like Goyle's twin! XD
YuiHarunaAi Hoshiko Uruk Sooo true!!
More or less
I was scared when Basilisk was here and there, but soon realized it's not so difficult to avoid it :) haha I like the music
They got the appearance of Tom Riddle wrong and he didn't use snake language to summon the basilisk. It just appear on its own.
You gotta remember this was made 14 years ago. Game engines were rather limited back then.
I know that.
damn I remember playing this as a kid, the final boss theme was so fucking amazing to me
You're right. I remember the same.
I would love to see this game in the PS2 classics section of the PSN store.
These graphics were years ahead of its time. Pretty good for 2002.
I love how you just ran around that Prefect. I always took a long time when sneaking around.

Matthew Plato I don’t know. They seemed drawn out to me.
The nostalgia.............
these early games have both ps1 and PC music recordings.
Way better than the first game.

Funny enough, the Xbox and GC versions had some notable fixes, but removed some other content as well.
Anisa Mazaki agreed. Its wasted potential
