I do that too, I know of one small spider in one corner of my room, I leave it there because it's tiny and in a place there could be other spiders (locked off room to a furnace that heats the apartment) so I don't want to get my hand in other spiders.

For all of you wondering, Wolf spider, HARMLESS, Interesting, Intelligent.
That's not exactly true for everyone. I have a low immune system because of having a Liver Transplant and if a wolf spider bit me I would have to be hospitalized for IV drugs to fight the venom the bite gives. You're right that it is harmless for some, but not everyone. I actually have never killed a spider that is OUTSIDE my home. I can't stand spiders in my house, especially big ones. If a spider is smaller, I will try to catch it in a cup and throw it outside, but I usually kill large ones with my shoe. I saw this large spider spinning a web outside my apartment building the other day, I left it alone because its in its own area/home and deserves peace....but if it messes with my house, its gonna die lol. I think if Zack doesn't want to have spiders in his garage and porch, he should spray some raid around every three days or so just to make sure they go away, that's what I'd do....that baby sack was so gross

How am I displaying speciecism? To be clear my definition of Speciecism is to say I believe I am superior to animals leading to the exploitation of them. I did say spiders have a right to live and I never said I'm superior to spiders or any living thing. All I said is if a spider came into my home, I would get rid of it....its the same thing if I stuck my hand in a spiders web and disturbed it, it would defend itself and bite me...as it should because I just disturbed its home. As for the bite thing, the only reason I would say that is because my actual doctor advised me of what it would do to me. I'm not saying I would drop dead after a bite because wolf spider bites are not lethal, but they are extremely painful for anyone and can lead to problems for those with a low immune system or for those who are allergic to them...that's what I was advised, not my own opinion or information. Am I a fan of spiders? No but that doesn't mean I feel they shouldn't get to live
JamieWWE Taking a cup is the only way to get "rid" of spiders, not killing the bigger ones. And don't always follow what doctors say because they're not even nearly as knowledgeable as they should be.

If I am not mistaken, it is a wolf spider. Very special among the spider world actually, as they are known to carry their young spiderling around for some time. This is rare among the spider species, many spiders are even cannibalistic. However, the wolf spider is not really a danger to humans, even though they can bite a human if provoked and while their venom is painfull it is in most cases not really dangerous, unless you might be allergic.
Spiders are very fascinating creatures. I am glad you didn't just kill it. Most people have no clue how incredible those creatures actually are, considering their unique characteristics. If we could invent materials that have the same quality like spider silk for example, then we could create bullet proof vests in the size of t-shirts. Spiders might be ugly, but they are also extremly usefull to humans, because they are killing countless of insects.
I'm lucky I live in Serbia there haven't got giant and posion spiders :D

I stepped on her and hundreds of babies went scattering- grabbed the OFF can luckily laying within reach and soaked their asses till they stopped moving, then squished all the babies. Fuck 'em scumbags.

It's a wolf spider, they actually eat other more dangerous spiders, and letting them live it definitely is a good option.

Spiders are actually a good thing. The kill a lot of mosquitos and stinging insects.
Spider can be gross but only few topical species bite, and they bite rarely.
