I’m going to school for digital media and animation, so I collect any pins that involve art! The paint cans, the sketchbooks, and the drawing process pins all fall under this criteria. :)

I collect specifically Aurora in her blue dress and it's so hard to find pins with her blue dress that aren't just screencaps of the movie. I have very strong opinions on her dress color and I wish Disney hadn't changed her marketing to pink!
My two most favorite and obscure collection is my favorite movie: the aristocats. I am currently getting the complete commemorative set of aristocats pins. My other collection is the rescuers. I have a small mini set of those that are pretty rare.
Your collection is cool & unique, I love how it's very you. As for me, I don't quite have a centered collection yet but I know of pins I want to collect. My trip to Disneyland in 2002 was my only time visiting a Disney theme park & I just sort of went for the pins that matched what I was into at the time, whenever I get my pins from storage I can look at them & organize things but I did collect some pins outside of that when I got older because I was more sure in what I wanted. I want to get a collection of Disney Afternoon pins going, not all the shows because I didn't watch them all but for the ones I loved growing up & still do now. So far I have two Darkwing Duck pins & I have a Talespin pin in the mail on its way here, bought from a seller you recommended. One of my two Darkwing Duck pins I apparently bought when it was new, I don't think I realized this at the time but it has Darkwing & Launchpad on it, still in the original cardboard backing it came with. I bought it in 2010 back when my DWD obsession was so big it was all I talked about, I even did some Darkwing Duck paintings in painting class in high school. I also have this Louie pin I got from this guy who tends to sell Disney pins at Pacific Northwest conventions, I don't know if they're authentic or not but I think he told me he got them from the parks himself. I might go to Rose City Comicon this year & if I do & he's there, I'll ask him some questions & see about his Disney experiences. I kept the Louie pin with my Louie Duck plush I kept on a shelf, he's in storage right now too because I moved not too long ago. I also have Huey & Dewey plush, bought all 3 at the Disney Store when they had a buy 2 get 1 free sale, seemed appropriate to get them for that. I should find matching pins for them, the Louie one I have is the green shirt with Louie on it but I just checked pinpics to look at the info, sad to see this pin gets faked so if I manage to track down the Huey & Dewey counterparts, I worry that they might be fake. I don't even know if the Louie I have is legitimate but when I get it out of storage, I'll use your tips to identify if it is. I'm looking to add some Chip N Dale Rescue Ranger pins to that collection & some Goof Troop. Need more Ducktales but I am so tempted on getting more Darkwing Duck pins, there's this Morgana one from 2019 Halloween that keeps catching my eye & I love it. Darkwing Duck is my favorite of the shows so I can see myself buying every Darkwing Duck pin I come across if I didn't pull back a little. I should add Ducktales to the collection, both the original & the reboot if there are any pins for the reboot but not sure aside from getting the matching Huey & Dewey to my Louie pin on which ones I want yet. As for other unusual collections, I wish so much I could add in some Club Penguin pins other than the puffles to a collection. Same for Disney's Toontown Online, specifying that because there's a lot of Toontown when it comes to Disney lol. I'll refer to it as TTO because most people refer to the original game as such, short for Toontown Online. The problem with this is that the TTO pins were released for Toonfest which only happened for a few years. As far as I know, they were given as prizes in the activities but I'm not too certain. There's very few listings for them online & the ones I did find are selling them for $50 each, I bought a Bloodsucker one because I had to have a cog of course but I also want to get Flippy because he is pretty much the mascot of the game. There's this other pin I want but it's not listed anywhere & if it does get listed, Toontown Rewritten which is a fan server, they're doing a project where they collect up everything they possibly can from the original game & display them in a online archive, they're missing the pin I want from their archive so I think it's more important that they get to archive it but it's something I'm really wanting in my collection. It's a yellow cat using a drop gag, the reason why I want it so bad is because drop is my favorite gag track in the game but it's kind of one of those gags you can do without. In the game, you work to earn various gag tracks to use against the evil cogs, different gags have different functions & you're going to end up going without one of the tracks in the game. Two tracks, trap & drop are like the top candidates of tracks you can do without because both are power gags, they do the most damage but trap needs lure in order to work, drop fails if lure is used before it & doesn't typically need a gag used before it but it's recommended that you hit the cog with something light first to better the odds of hitting because drop has a low hit rate. This kinda makes it one of the least popular gags in the game but come on, I love dropping a piano on my enemy, it's super toony. The fact that there's a pin with a toon using drop warms my heart, it's like the top of my most wanted pins. She's just pressing the button that triggers the gag to fall but anyone who has played the game knows what she's doing in the pin. I'm sad I can't obtain it. As for the Club Penguin pins, I like Club Penguin but the majority of the pins that aren't puffles are sold for a bit of a high price. For some reason there's a Shadow Guy pin that ends up being sold for around $5 which has me thinking that pin is probably often faked or something but I bought it anyways just to have a Club Penguin pin to put next to my Bloodsucker pin. My online Disney pins collection will be so tiny but at least it'll have something I'm passionate about. Those are my more unusual goals for my collections, I know going for something like Disney Afternoon probably isn't that obscure since the Ducktales reboot did end up causing more hype for those shows plus there's a Rescue Rangers movie on the way so that'll drum up more hype for it. Might as well put the pins I want most into a list & decided when to buy what from where soon just in case people buy up those pins, prioritizing anything Rescue Rangers but that might be late given Chip N Dale in their RR outfits will be costumed characters soon enough from what I heard. Here's hoping I can find some authentic ones for a good price. My other collections I want to build up are probably much more common like Lilo & Stitch, it's a popular movie, the majority of people love it, & there's a lot of pins for it. I went to Disneyland when the movie was still new so it was my top priority in the pins I wanted to get & I do believe I got a few, I begged my mom for an expensive one & I remember her caving but that memory is very blurred. This is probably one of the most common of the collections I'd be after so I'm not going to seek out the pins for the most part, just gonna let them come to me.
I collect Meet the Robinsons and Fantasmic pins! Can be some pretty rare pins. I love collections that are very personal and unique to the collector. So fun to see what other people look for when collecting pins!

My collection is of Scar from the Lion King which I guess you could say is an “obscure” character since Disney doesn’t carry much of him, (for obvious reasons) really hard to find pins of him 😂
I collect lots of things, mainly Donald Duck pins. But, my favorite pins to collect are The Three Caballeros. They are very rare-ish and I only have a few, but they are my favorite characters, movie, and pins.
I love that Poly hidden Mickey pin! Would love to get a real one of those. I love the Jiminy Earth Day pin too, that is so unique! I've got a small collection of NYC pins I'd like to expand. Not quite as obscure as geology, but in college my roommate and I used to spend hours in the World of Disney store that used to be located on 5th Avenue and that was just such a magical time of life and I'd visit when I was feeling homesick. I'm also interested in classical music-related pins because my husband plays in a top symphony orchestra and that's a huge part of our life together. Loved this video!

I study culture and parenting in my PhD and I don't know if it's because of my research interests and/or that I'm Chinese, but I collect Asian-themed Disney pins - I absolutely LOVE Disney characters dressed in traditional Chinese clothes/drinking tea in an old-fashioned Chinese restaurant (recently acquired this pin!). I'm relatively new to pin trading and the pins that I like seem quite hard to find even though they might be just open edition pins. . . Anyway, love the video!
I collect bird-related pins! Literally any bird! I mostly look for anything thats not Donald though because thats too easy. I'm studying to be an ornithologist, so obviously I had to have a bird pin collection. Your geology collection is awesome!

I collect great mouse detective! It gets pretty expensive pretty fast since it's a very underrated disney movie. We did get three new great mouse pins in mystery boxes recently though so I'm hoping that trend continues!

As a Biology/Forensics/CRJ major, and volunteer with the Oklahoma Science Museum , I LOVE this collection of yours! It's so awesome to see others who appreciate the sciences so much. I wish I could find Biology or Forensic related pins that are Disney but I don't expect to see any for obvious reasons lol. As far as off the wall and not from Disney , my weird collection is probably Wizard of Oz lol. I'm obsessed with anything and everything Wizard of Oz (the original 1942 version).

That's an awesome collection! I thought about collecting any pin that had to do with math because of my degree. But all of them have to do with little red school houses and elementary math. Soooo not exciting and not my level of math. LOL

Zip-a-Dee-Doo Disney only just recently started the pin collecting, but we’ve been going to Disney for 10 years 🙈 I feel I’ve missed out haha, and it’s so difficult being a pin collector in the UK. Will have to make up for it when I go back this October 😊😀

I don't think I have as many unique pins as you... Maybe not even any. I think the weirdest I can name would be the jewel-studded Zero pin that I got at Disneyland during the 2013 Halloween event. I've been collecting pins since 2001, so I may have a few that most might consider weird or unique, but I wouldn't know because I'm so used to them... If anyone finds film poster promotion pins to be unique, I have one for Tim Burton's "Alice In Wonderland" film from WDW... And I have a glow-in-the-dark Cheshire Cat ball maze pin from Disneyland's Mad T Party (my favorite show at Disneyland, sadly no longer in existence)... I also have the Disneyland 2013 Halloween Oogie Boogie pin that lets you open the Halloween door to reveal Lock, Shock and Barrel. ... and on one of my first trips, I got a pin that's actually stitched with denim that features Jessie from Toy Story. Now you have me wanting to go through my pins and find all the weirdest ones. haha Also, I don't imagine many people collect the Country Bears pins... I only have one so far, but there are a LOAD of them that I want. So far, I just have Hidden Mickey Series Melvin.

I've been collecting pins since 2001, so I may have a few that most might consider weird or unique, but I wouldn't know because I'm so used to them... If anyone finds film poster promotion pins to be unique, I have one for Tim Burton's "Alice In Wonderland" film from WDW... And I have a glow-in-the-dark Cheshire Cat ball maze pin from Disneyland's Mad T Party (my favorite show at Disneyland, sadly no longer in existence)... I also have the Disneyland 2013 Halloween Oogie Boogie pin that lets you open the Halloween door to reveal Lock, Shock and Barrel. ... and on one of my first trips, I got a pin that's actually stitched with denim that features Jessie from Toy Story. Now you have me wanting to go through my pins and find all the weirdest ones. haha
Also, I don't imagine many people collect the Country Bears pins... I only have one so far, but there are a LOAD of them that I want. So far, I just have Hidden Mickey Series Melvin.
