  • Slí Gaeltacht Mhuscraí is a fantastic hike but doing it right after the Beara Way (section 1) made the hiking very tough and challenging.
    Blisters, cuts, bruises, grit and determination were all part of this gruelling challenge but thankfully I didn't find myself alone as help came from many places. Solely placed in Cork this trail takes you over mountains, fields and country laneways with stops in Ballingeary and Ballyvourney before arriving in Millstreet. Probably the jewel of the hike is Gougane Barra a truly wonderful place of tranquillity and rejuvenation.
    Slí Gaeltacht Mhuscraí is the second section of the Beara-Breifne Way and The Ireland Way (1000km)
    Please follow along and watch my epic adventure as I walk 1000km from the bottom all the way to the very top of Ireland

    I have my ticket booked to Dublin for April 14th, 2021. As long as Aer Lingus will fly me and the restrictions are off then I will set first foot down on the 16th or 17th. I always look forward to a night in my tent with the rain lashing down and a hot cup of tea to get me to sleep. Dara, I really hope you get over and explore what these magical places have to offer but I hope you don't get too much rain. My Gaelic isn't very good but you'll have plenty of chance to practice once you're in the Gaeltacht. Are you just touring around hiking or are you going to any particular trails?

    Hey Michael, I’ve heard there’s a LOT of road walking on the Ireland Way. can I ask you two questions: 1. Is that true? And 2. For the road sections, are the busy roads or quiet country lane-type tracks? Cheers great video!

    • @MountainMikesAdventures
      @MountainMikesAdventures  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sadly that is true there is a lot of road walking, the North West Cork Way is 90% roads. Now work is ongoing to pull more of the trails through fields as we speak. Majority of roads are country lanes but I did feel unsafe on a few which I felt you shouldn't be pulled out on.

      @@DerekCullenOutdoors I'd wait a year or two and let them develop it a bit more because they are doing a lot of work on it.
