    Hi Guys Interesting having a comparison in one episode of change in one are and no change, where you camped overnight. I don't like change much which is why I live where I do. The thing about development is it makes the area completely unsustainable, as it relies on money or material being bought in from some where else. The world is full of places that are just concrete jungles that exists to enable un necessary consumption. In the villages you see many happy faces, in the concrete jungles you don't see any. Case closed.

    The drone shots are incredible. The landscape is spectacular .Change is always tough. Good Change is good. Bad Change is bad. We agree with you Todd. Always doing the good work.

    They paved paradise and put up a parking lot....... it's a damn shame, the natural beauty of the place was stripped right away. Limited planning and zoning does have a down side.

    Come on Todd, you cannot have it both ways. Once you start regulating it never stops like in Australia. Soon you will have to wear a helmet on a donkey and there would be no more three kids on a motor bike. This is why we live in SE Asia.

    Howdy Todd,,another great one! The changes around those caves is,,,devastatingly remarkable,,unbelievable how much they accomplished in 2 years. You are 100 percent correct,,in a lovely area like that,there most definitely needs to be restrictions on what is built ,where. Construction needs to blend,,like some of the river resorts. Just common sense,,not immoral or ignorant,,as the one ignoramus suggested. Lol idiot! Once again struck by how sweet the Hmong people are. Id much rather stay in a place like that,,than stay in a cell. Growing up as i did,,there are certain barn smells that are very pleasant,,in winter ,a cow ready to be milked has a sweet grainy smell,,I've always loved the smell of horses and mules. Horse shit has a pleasant smell,,if you can use the term pleasant referring to ANY shit at all. My Grandpa's barn smelled of grass hay and sweet molasses oats. That barn collapsed from a super heavy,,highly unusual snow when i was 9 years old. Was bulldozed into a pile and burned when i was 11. I will remember those smells until i die. Once in awhile you can wiff a similar smell in an old fashioned feed store,,but they are few and far between. Omg ,,Nina,,you and Neenee better tell her about her crazy American Uncle! Lol my youngest blood niece is officially grown. She got engaged last Friday night. I dig being an Uncle,,but at engagement,,you cease to be needed. Lol so,,i need some new nieces to spoil. Thank for the update on things. Ttyl,,,Marlon

    To be blunt- I'm not impressed by those changes. The attraction of Laos is, for me, that it is original, it is genuine, it is unspoiled by Western money, trends, and pressures.
    Those changes are the product of someone who only sees money.
    Just like that Chinese woman who scammed you when you were having car problems.
    Westerners are Rich, they have money they do not need. Let's take it from them.
    That's what I saw. That's how it made me feel. Now I'll sit back and wait for all the flames.

    • @NowinLao
      @NowinLao  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm using an international permit, haven't got around to obtaining a Lao licensee yet. Not sure of your visa status here, but I have heard with a spouse visa you can get your existing license transferred to a Lao driving licence for a small fee. Even without a spouse visa, others have sat a test for it, while others have just bought it 😉😉

    Todd, the beautiful green hill on the other side of the running river in bet NeeNee would love a house there and enjoy the sound of the running river. It is absolutely picturesque . Where does the toilet feces and urine go, into the river? or do they have septic cleanup. Peace.

    • @chrisperkins7331
      @chrisperkins7331 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most have septic tanks. However it is important to remember that human by product is not a waste pollutant to nature . Urine for example is 50% nitrogen (dry weight), which people buy as fertilizer.
