This is the best educational tool. Live hens calling. They don’t sound all perfect and pristine. They’re raspy and wild. They sound much different than you’d imagine.
And each one seems to have it’s own sound and cadence. Much greater variation than most game birds.
Even the gobbles can be unique.
No the thing is they do sound perfect thats what makes realism real, the absolute top 5 pros sound exactly like the hens in this video.
Love watching hens in the woods. I learn so much. On how they call out. Thank you for this video..

Just hunted my first morning of my first turkey season (I am 45 yrs old) Not successful today but I learned a couple things. After watching this I see I could have been a bit more aggressive. Thanks for the schooling.

Just awesome . A must for anyone to hear who hunts these birds. The hens tell us more about these birds than the toms.
I kid you not I have a turkey (thats a pet) sitting on the sofa and she is responding to these sounds. I know this is for hunters, but its pretty cool because she hasn't heard the sound of another turkey since she was a little baby.

I have been playing diff. Ones on my cell and I had 4 big Male and 6 hens come toward my house they are really big. I live in woodville,Alabama Al😂😂😂😂🎉 😂 I so love watching them. Woman playing with Big Tom's Head lmaf lol😂❤❤❤
Thanks for the great video. It's really an excellent lesson on all of the sounds that hens make. It's also a good video to show beginners what a hen looks and sounds like, so there is no confusion in the field. A very confused turkey. It had the brown body feathers of a hen. But seemed to have a nice solid fan. And a big beard for a hen.
Also the body shape was more of a Jake. Jake all day.
In deer season me and my grandson was sitting in a stand and had a hen turkey come by. We spooked off and she went clucking a lot I guess to warn other turkeys she would not shut up. A few minutes later we heard a turkey gobble. I told my grandson that the gobbler had told her to shut up. About 5 minutes later the hen and gobbler was coming back to us. It ended up being the hen. She gobbled 3 times in plain sight but of course she stopped when I tried to catch it on video.
All season dad and I keep hearing the worst box call of all time. We think and know it's a hunter....wrong.
Yesterday we sat and decided to call her in and bam there comes a bearded hen all jacked up sounding like the worst box call of all time.
Of course we passed and let her go to make some more babies.
The last bearded hen I saw I let her walk away only to hear someone else shot her later

In that situation I think box call sounds the most like that he you guys can hate on me saying mouth calls are better but the box call matches the raspy voice of the hen
I got 3 pet wide breasted whites and it's pretty cool to watch them respond to this. They seem lonely. This breaks the ice when i walk around them

Mafongo Jr be very still. Have your gun ready to shoot, if you don't have it shouldered and aimed before they get in range. Otherwise they will definitely see you

I was hunting.. And I heard these hens calling bout a week ago in my yard. I saw one And They were alone, so i decided why not hen for dinner?so I had shot one with a bow.This one, they had a broad chest and thick thighs. Also not too much hair. Turned out it had a nest, so i took the eggs out too..
