Just bought the 2022 Rocket 3 R. Coming from an Aprilia Tuono. Even after a short ownership I can say that thRocket is great in curves, you just need to have your technique right - turn your head, start out wide, buffer the apex and aim to finish in tight. The peg clearance is fine, I haven't scrapped them yet, so there is enough room for spirited curve street riding on the R model. I admit I was worried about the transition but my concerns quickly evaporated. It is heavier, but you don't feel the weight while riding. The low centre of mass is the physics defying key. The brakes are linked and the fronts have immense stopping power, while the gear box has a nice positive feel between changes with a positive click up or down - more so than my previous bike - in fact most bikes I have ridden. The bike is awesome. edit: typo's
Thoroughly enjoyed that Chopsie - love a bit of old fashioned vloggage me.....and what a bike to do it on eh? That 100K is tantalisingly close, but please don't thnik the pressure will then be off.....in my experience it gets harder the longer you do this lark....but what a great lark it is and as a retirement "job" I can only thoroughly recommend it.......as I can fasting if you want to lose some weight...but as you said, it has to be a way of life thing to keep the extra pounds off......
on a health related note, 18 months ago i was a bit of a wideboy coming in at 18.5 stone. have ditched the sugar, bread and rice meals and now im down to 16.5 stone, still have a way to go but i am headed in the right direction
I personally really enjoy these rambling less focused vids Chops as they definitely have their place. TMF has done a few as well & for me it's just nice to get to know you guys a little better. You should consider doing them once a month as a regular fixture. I also think the vids you do with Greg & womble are entertaining too so you could have a natter with them from time to time as well. That reminds me, we need an update on Greg's GSXR. : )
I agree a vid or two with a Greg GXSR update and Womble ramblings (does he still have his Tuono?) would be great. Also would appreciate a vid on the new MT 10 Regarding keeping weight off its definitely a lifestyle change but I also have found weight is lost in the kitchen and not at the gym. It also helps to only have 2 meals - a late lunch and a regular dinner and nothing (food) in between or after dinner. This is how I lived when I was a kid and much thinner than now. Seems its an easy way of fasting .
This is by far in my top 5 favorite TH-cam channels. I really liked this episode. Thank you for being real, relatable and quite funny too. Chops you are the best👏
Bald dude here, can confirm. Bugs in the helmet is awful. Especially when on the freeway! The other day I jumped on the interstate, at 90 mph got a small moth stuck in my helmet get tossed all around in my visor. Worst case scenario! Love the content Chops! Cheers from America! 🇺🇸
A bigger garage and a smaller garden sounds like a win win to me :) I was also wondering if you get more comments from random people riding the Rocket compared to riding an old RDLC?
I've got the old Rocket III Roadster. I recently rode the new one and it's everything the old one should've been. Ditch the retro looks, more power, decent ground clearance, fab brakes, traction control. I absolutely loved it. Been there, done that with the diet and subsequent weight gain. Now I've changed what I eat and am happy with it. Something I can stick to - mostly. Nice video Chopsy - thanks.
These random trips to nowhere in particular are fantastic, getting shit off your chest , speaking wise words of wisdom is a great thing,it almost felt like a therapeutic session, feel free to do more 💥👌
I got up to 13 stone 7 pounds, but managed to get back down to 12 and a half which is my healthy weight. I agree totally that its a lifestyle change - you have to change what you eat and when you eat. Summer is a good time to enjoy healthy salads. Don't eat in between meals or have a late night supper and you're golden.
I totally get what you're saying about dieting. Part of the trouble with some diets is you lose a lot of muscle mass along with the fat so when you're done dieting, a lot of your calorie burning potential that comes from muscle is greatly reduced and then it's much easier to put weight back on. I think they key is making sure your have enough protein when you diet and you have to exercise- I wish I could say I have practiced what I preach but it's a real struggle. Love the Rocket, I have a Rocket 3 GT and it's my favorite bike ever.
I agree with your theory on diets,I lost 5stone ,3 yrs ago but due to stress & other things I have put a stone back on,but it's great that someone I watch regularly openly talks about weight issue's,love the rocket by the way.
Great vid as always chopsy My dad recently brought a rocket 3 and what a bike. We’re off out today in the twisty’s and I’m on a 701 , I was very surprised how nibble that triumph is and the bikes seem to play well together. Thanks for the convincing me I need a supermoto , and keep up the hard work I feel the pain of having the skill to put on a stone in a weekend.
Trust me, dark leathers are fine in the UK. I’m the southern US, dark leathers, especially in perforated, is a recipe for heat exhaustion in at least one season, and often the half of the 2 ancillary seasons, too.
I rode the original Rocket Roadster. I couldn't believe how easy was to get off the side stand. And how light it felt on the go. Obviously to do with the low centre of gravity. Weight: 16/8 - you can eat as much as you normally do and lose weight. It works, but you have to keep it up. Office and a double garage sounds like dreamland.
There was something about this vid, felt very honest, very open, and I can hear certain frustrations in your voice. I get that, life is hard. FWIW, I always watch your vids and enjoy them and I wish you all the best with the move.
I have an old Victory XC that's going to need to be replaced sooner or later... I want something with (significantly)more power but I don't want to give up the comfort or touring ability(since touring is mostly what I use a road bike for). The Rocket 3 has been on mind to try out as a possible replacement. Thanks for the ramblings, always entertaining to have a listen to your random thoughts 😉
Nice upload, I particularly appreciate you talking about weight issues as I was 27st at 5'10" and now around 23st and yoyoing between 21 and 23. It's a mental health issue and unless that is conquered, weight will always be a problem.
Yes mate. As you correctly theorise, it is indeed a curse of the Slapheads vis-a-vis the crawling little barstewards inside your lid. Best not to think of them as flesh burrowers I find 😳👀🤣🤣🤣. Great vid Chopsy 👍
I feel your pain Choppsy, I went from 137kg to 100kg and maintained for 2 years then went back up to 146kg over the next 2 years. Now trying to get back to 100 kg, and it's much harder this time around been 5 years older :) I absolutely agree that your body remembers how to be fat and always wants to back to it. In terms of survival been slim is not an attractive proposition for your body it loves to be fat.
Great to see the old roads of home I lived in Leigh Park and proud of it 😂 Use to drink in the Castle at Rowlands Castle really nice village surrounded by the Stansted Estate.
I have a speedy, and a zx9r trackbike. But also a nissan leaf that's practical, cheap and gets ragged everywhere! Don't know "character type " that makes me...... 100% lifestyle over diet. Ever seen the gamechangers? Worth a look even if you don't agree with it. Keep up the good work 👏
keep up the great vids love the ramblings especially in the present climate as they say its winter here in aus and im hangin to get out and ride Cheers Glenn.
As an electrician I used to do a few jobs at the One Stop convenience store in Leigh Park. I used to love going there to see one of my favourite girls,
I remember pulling away from a set of lights to find a wasp had flown under my chin bar! Only time I've had a bug in my helmet I know about. Slowly lifted the visor up as I was moving and out it went! As for the weight thing, I used to be the other way around and your right. It's a whole different lifestyle change. You have to enjoy what you eat or you won't stick with it. Also most people on a diet, just stop eating and changing their diet on a whim as opposed to slowly taking away certain things. It's so much easier to maintain if you do it gradually. 100 calories less that week. 100a week or 2 later etc. And I totally want that EV rant! 😁
I have the same issue Chops. Only 24 and the last 2 years ive been slowly putting weight on... I work hard every day quite psychical work. I wouldn't say I eat THAT much. But the weight keeps creeping up and dieting did help but you can't keep to it forever.... it's boring, it's an inconvenience, it's actually expensive! You aren't alone and don't feel down about it. All you can do is try your best and keep mindful of the situation you are faced with. I just bought my first one piece which has an airbag built in. This means it had extra stretch panels so I could get a suit that fitted me well and still stretched around my bulging bits :') very comfy.
Great clip chops , always had the single garage myself would love a double !!! But needs must , would probs just fill the double with more rubbish I seem to accumulate all the time 😮 I love the solo runs myself just doing what your doing exploring new wee roads and see where you come out till eventually you recognise somewhere!! Or get the map out on the mobile to find a way back 😁😁 keep up the good work .👍
Talking about the interest in the Rocket Three, I’ve just bought a Niken people even come up and take pictures of it. I’ve never been asked so many questions about a bike.
when your getting older chopsey a smaller garden is better less to do and more time to ride i have a small garden but no bike i would love a rocket they look so good and sound brilliant as do all Triumph triples nice vid and some great comments 👍
Yep, my late twenties/early thirties leathers are a different size than my late thirties/mid fourties’ leathers (so far). HOWEVER, my toys and skills are SO MUCH better. So, I’ll gladly take the latter and buy some new leathers, especially since they now have airbags.
Jesus Christ man, 26st! One would of never of known had you had ever been that weight. That is an amazing achievement to be sitting at your current weight. Totally concur about your lifestyle comments, and yes, it’s bloody hard to keep it off 😬.
I'm exactly the same in regards to how I ride, I much prefer riding with mates, the chat and banter at the stops etc. I don't enjoy it nearly as much riding alone, and if I do I rarely stop somewhere, just have a blast a bit of an explore then go home. This was almost like an old school standard motovlog, that we don't tend to get from bigger uk moto channels, really enjoyed something a little different. Maybe put up some of those rides with your mates from time to time, would be a great fun video I would think.
Great vid on a great bike. My mate's going on the Blood Bike so had to do his Advanced Institute of Motorist's course. He now hardly touches the front brake for the reasons you were outlining. Apparently Police bike mechanics can have trouble with the front callipers as they seize through lack of use.
Totally with you on the weight thing. My weight goes down like a feather and up like a rocket (triumph or space). Glad it’s not just me. Managed to loose 4 stone, then my mum passed away and put it back on again. 3 years later I’ve lost half of that again and I’m a hell of a lot fitter but it’s just exhausting trying to maintain any kind of progress.
Thanks for the honesty. I am already a subscriber, time to be a member me thinks. Your content is well worth it. Not everyone can do this TH-cam stuff. Keep up the good work.
Great ride chopsy, a few points 1) totally agree with the body weight, it is a lifestyle change not a diet that works long term. 2) Rowlands Castle is a village not a town. 3) yes houses are expensive, I know that as I live there.. 4) yes the Bumblebee cafe is really good, but does get the lycra crowd.. Who seem to think standing in a group blocking a pathwath for pedestrians is acceptable behaviour. Keep up the great videos and feel free to post the occasional rant..
I’d go for one of these over say a 1200 Bonneville because it has such a tremendous motor and shaft drive. Try an experiment with a Mach 111/IV blast by sound track.
Great video chop's, like a lot of the other comments it's just great to hear general chit chat about life and everything else. Love it mate, more of these please
Brilliant video as always chopsie! It’s people like you that give me the motivation to keep pushing on, making content, enjoying my bikes and sharing it with the world. That 100k play button is just around the corner, and one day I might have one of my own lol! Thank you for the amazing content, advice and just being an awesome human being! 💯👍
The electricity in the battery pack got it's own back on the E.V rant 🤣 "You won't be bad-mouthing me, Sir. Nope, not today. Stick this in your plug socket and smo.. charge it" - Electrons
Great video, had everything in it! And made me laugh which is alway good. Your spot on, diets don’t work, change of life style does but very hard to do especially in todays world. I’m buying a rocket 3 GT 221 edition. Wanted the R but would have to wait months for one locally. Getting sports bars and mid pegs with it so should be close to an R model and can alway swap if I want a change. Is there any other differences between them? Watched your video on the comparison between the R and GT. Is the seat slightly different? I live on the Orkney islands at the top of Scotland. Currently have a Suzuki GSX S1000 (which I will probably keep as It’s a brilliant all rounder) and before that a GSX-R1000R.
A nice relaxed day out, just bumbling along enjoying the bike and in no particular rush to go anywhere, is where it's at for me too bud. I enjoy the random ramblings, almost feel like I'm along on the ride with ya, just shootin' the breeze and solving life's conundrums one at a time. I would subscribe again, but it won't let me, say's I'm being greedy :>)
Great Video chops, rely enjoyed your Ramblings.....your down to earth, Honest and seem a guanine nice bloke...im sure you will soon be up and pass 100k subscribers....your vids are varied , interesting, and you love to Ride keep up the Great videos I watch about 10 motorcycle vloggers a your channel is in my Top 5 keep safe have fun....look forward to seeing more of your Bike vids 👍👍
Getting the Super Duke R back hopefully for the weekend at last ! Bury Hill if your around or Brighton👍🏻 Followed by cool larger back at mine. I tell you what KTM OEM parts are not easy to get hold of on a good time scale.
Just stay on Keto and it stays off. As you rightly say, it’s a lifestyle change that’s needed. Don’t think I’ve left a comment on your channel before, so just like to say, I watch and thoroughly enjoy them all.
I went up to 30st then went to 14st and now around 20 but hate it tbh and I’ve got a new rocket GT and feel uncomfortable at times on the twisting roads.
Hi chops..I love these sort of videos! I can't believe you having hit 100.000 subs You deserve at least half a million!! Just waiting delivery of my black and gold gen 3 hayabusa!!! So going through all your channel Great job!!!!
It is amazing what we talk about when we go out for a spin witu no agenda, yr lifestyle commet makes sense, but your Kung Fu Panda, comment made Sally and I laugh! Take care buddy! Keep up the good work! 👍
Victor meldrue on the motorbike mum ,,, sounds like you are going to expand John,, what has happened with the Ducati,, enjoyed the ride out today ☘️☘️☘️☘️in work at present in Harland and Wolff on tea break from northern Ireland 😁☘️
So, bigger garage and smaller garden? You say that like it's a bad thing 😂. Also, I reckon 2 bogs is the sweet spot 👌. 3 just means 3 lots of bog roll and 3 lots of toilet cleaning 😔. Nice little rambly vid Chops - a change is as good as a rest, eh? Cheers 👍
I'm 190cm and 88kg, so about 6'2" and 14 stone. I had a sit on a rocket and was genuinely surprised with how small it felt. I'd just ridden about 30 mile on my Versys 1000 and sat on a Rocket GT and Rocket R at the dealership and thought it felt quite small. Maybe it was the massive difference in height and me being a lanky git. As for kids saying rev it? Yeah 100% Especially when you've got the baffles out 😁
I ride a BMW boxer. Though I am an experienced biker, the look of this bike intimidates me. If I were to give it a test ride, I would definitely be nervous.
nah chops im 57 wiv a full head of grey hair n they love to crawl round usually round your lug holes mate ps lovin the channel dave the sv650s rider derbyshire ,
Gained a subscriber from another big n tall biker boy across the pond! Great channel, too, genuinely. The editing and quality of content across several videos I e just watched, really nice!
Are you fat? I'm a 67 former body builder and not fat in the USA. I bought a Rocket 3 2/9/24. Never had a bike this fast. My last bike was a US Boss Hoss 502 V8. It wasn't really a bike. More of a conversation piece at 1500 US pounds. The Rocket is a beast. I love it. I just found out how to almost double the power to over 300 horsepower in the software. Triumph governs the Sport mode to 60%.
Chops I think that is the next slogan for an LCR t shirt "dieting makes you fat" totally agree and why I gave up dieting. You are so right it's easy to lose weight but nobody sells you anything that allows you to stay at the weight you are once you get there! Love the rocket 3 just wish it was slightly less plasticky looking on the rear half. Would still have one in the dream garage though. Think sometimes the unscripted videos are better. Nice one.
Agree 100% with you on weight issues for over 50s, you described to a T. I was the same a bean pole most of my life till I turned 45 and stopped smoking and drinking, now struggling. One thing that will make you loose weight is standing in front of a Mirror in your white power rangers leathers and white boots 😂 .
Just bought the 2022 Rocket 3 R. Coming from an Aprilia Tuono. Even after a short ownership I can say that thRocket is great in curves, you just need to have your technique right - turn your head, start out wide, buffer the apex and aim to finish in tight. totally agree, I enjoy this type a video- it gets a bit more personal.
I'd love to hear the rant about EV's. I like the idea of them but they attract a certain character type (especially Teslas) which I struggle with.
You mean conscientious types.
Careful...
A bigger garage and a smaller garden sounds like a win win to me :)
I was also wondering if you get more comments from random people riding the Rocket compared to riding an old RDLC?

Like you i have a 07 Rocket has a TTS supercharger so plenty of power.. But yes i agree the new model has much better brakes and handling
Lovin' the trip around "Flea-park", as another ex Hayling Island chap it's great to see some familiar roads. Love the show 🙂
I feel you with the weight! I struggle same as you for years! Makes it a nightmare getting bike clothes! I love the Triumph as well amazing bike
This is what we call an old school motovlog son! Awesome stuff man 5 years ago motovlogs were my main form of entertainment and still love a good one
These random trips to nowhere in particular are fantastic, getting shit off your chest , speaking wise words of wisdom is a great thing,it almost felt like a therapeutic session, feel free to do more 💥👌
You’ve put a lot of work into building this channel so congratulations on the growing subscriber numbers.
The Rocket 3... what a bike... sit on it and you're the kingl
Thanks Chops, congratulations on the new place.
I got up to 13 stone 7 pounds, but managed to get back down to 12 and a half which is my healthy weight. I put those bar end mirrors on my '22 Bonnie T120. They are superb.
Enjoyed the vid, thanks. Best speed to100k 👍
Great video Chops 🤟love this chat style, and the Rocket looks epic in the flesh
Good sound and acceleration with this bike. Cool looking.

Top tip. Riding with pilly best use the rear brake to avoid the annoying head butt. 100k plaque will be awesome. I don’t have 100 user plaque 👍👍👍

A truly fun and great video! I enjoy all of your videos that shows all these amazing bikes! Keep them coming! RideWithPeace.

Absolutely love the subjects aparat of the motorcycles like the bugs on the bold head 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Good work Chops , I found your channel 3 years ago always enjoy the content .
Another great review chops on the rocket . it's hard to keep weight down but keep the reviews coming and we will keep watching all the best from Danny
The struggle is real man, keep up the good work.
Thanks for the support Travis
Keep up the work.love seeing southern England used to work it in the yellow vans.🏍🌋🏔

Always great to go out for a ride with your mate Chopsy 👍🙂 I too have a hankering for the mighty Rocket 3 😮
I agree with all the comments coming in, you deserve 200k+ as this channel is great.

no worries chops, we will keep pressing the thumbs up you button pal.
Cheers Neale 🍻
Really enjoy these type of non specific blogs. TMF recently did one and they offer a different perspective. Good luck with the 100k.
Beautiful where you ride. Polar opposite of where I live in the desert.
I remember pulling away from a set of lights to find a wasp had flown under my chin bar! Only time I've had a bug in my helmet I know about.

100 calories less that week. 100a week or 2 later etc.
And I totally want that EV rant! 😁
love this video chops and I really have a soft spot for the rocket 3 hopefully I will be able to own one someday .
I wear "retro" leathers too - bought new in '94 and I'm too cheap to replace them - luckily I don't change weight (9st) :o 😉

Yes my leathers are an airbag suit. Certainly given me extra room! I'm screwed if the airbag goes off though! 😆
@@LambChopRides yhhh i dont pay for the subscription so atm my airbag wont go off 😂😂😂
Definitely agree with weight finding it’s way back quicker to the old haunches. Yes, bugs on a hot sweaty wet bald head are quite noticeable😅
Been looking for a new bike and love the look of the Rocket and may take a ride!
I remapped my Rocket 3 R.. I installed Tune ECU and then downloaded the panner Tune from the forums and its transformed the bike. Its soooo fast now..
Great clip chops , always had the single garage myself would love a double !!! Yep, my late twenties/early thirties leathers are a different size than my late thirties/mid fourties’ leathers (so far). HOWEVER, my toys and skills are SO MUCH better. So, I’ll gladly take the latter and buy some new leathers, especially since they now have airbags.
Love this video!! More Baron-von-Chops rants please!
Thanks buddy 👍👍
Yes exactly Durkan that's what I'm like 👍
Thanks for the honesty. I am already a subscriber, time to be a member me thinks. Your content is well worth it. Not everyone can do this TH-cam stuff. Keep up the good work.
Thanks buddy 👍
Nice to hear you are doing good and are greatfull for it, most people today just whine..👍👏
Luv8ng the torque on my gen 3 busa so I'm sure it's great on the rocket
Great ride chopsy, a few points
1) totally agree with the body weight, it is a lifestyle change not a diet that works long term.
Thanks Martyn 👍
Brilliant video as always chopsie! It’s people like you that give me the motivation to keep pushing on, making content, enjoying my bikes and sharing it with the world. That 100k play button is just around the corner, and one day I might have one of my own lol! Thank you for the amazing content, advice and just being an awesome human being! 💯👍
The electricity in the battery pack got it's own back on the E.V rant 🤣
"You won't be bad-mouthing me, Sir. Nope, not today. Stick this in your plug socket and smo.. charge it" - Electrons
Haha probably! 😆

Low carb is the way to go. I went from 99 to 81kg and kept it off. As a bonus also gave T2 diabetes the elbow!
Glad you’ve got all that off you chest. I’ve got a sand bag in the living room now, ready for the next instalment of life’s secrets.😂. Fun run .
Getting the Super Duke R back hopefully for the weekend at last ! Bury Hill if your around or Brighton👍🏻 Followed by cool larger back at mine.
I tell you what KTM OEM parts are not easy to get hold of on a good time scale.
How you haven't got that many subs is crazy, I've enjoyed your videos for years! Thanks matey 👍🏻
Just stay on Keto and it stays off. As you rightly say, it’s a lifestyle change that’s needed. Don’t think I’ve left a comment on your channel before, so just like to say, I watch and thoroughly enjoy them all.
Thanks for the comment Rob appreciated buddy 👍
I went up to 30st then went to 14st and now around 20 but hate it tbh and I’ve got a new rocket GT and feel uncomfortable at times on the twisting roads.
I really enjoy your vids ..keep em coming ..not a bad bike too.......would look great in my single bedroomed bungalow with triple garage ..oh I wish 🤔
Hi chops..I love these sort of videos!
I can't believe you having hit 100.000 subs
You deserve at least half a million!!
Just waiting delivery of my black and gold gen 3 hayabusa!!!

I’m sending you a man hug Chopsy.
Traded in the Streefighter V-4S , this could be my next bike, i worry the weight will get old
Victor meldrue on the motorbike mum ,,, sounds like you are going to expand John,, what has happened with the Ducati,, enjoyed the ride out today ☘️☘️☘️☘️in work at present in Harland and Wolff on tea break from northern Ireland 😁☘️
Cheers 👍
Excellent keep up the great work 👏👏👏
As someone with hair and a beard, I get bugs in my lid and they're just as annoying as you find them Chops. Great vid.
If I were to give it a test ride, I would definitely be nervous.
nah chops im 57 wiv a full head of grey hair n they love to crawl round usually round your lug holes mate ps lovin the channel dave the sv650s rider derbyshire
,
Had many a cheeky piss down the drain in my back garden when the missus has been in the bath.😅
Gained a subscriber from another big n tall biker boy across the pond! Great channel, too, genuinely. The editing and quality of content across several videos I e just watched, really nice!
Thanks buddy, welcome 👍
@@LambChopRides Cheers!! 👍🏻
Yeah your right Rage Rider i feel like ive been to counselling !
Nice one.
Love it Chops - really enjoyable rant 🤣😎
Agree 100% with you on weight issues for over 50s, you described to a T. I was the same a bean pole most of my life till I turned 45 and stopped smoking and drinking, now struggling. One thing that will make you loose weight is standing in front of a Mirror in your white power rangers leathers and white boots 😂 .
Haha that will do it! 👍😆
Love the 2 stroke intro 😁❤️💯
