Booked on Carnival Elation for our 35th Anniversary in September going to Nassau and Princess Cay. My first cruise was on the Fascination out of Jacksonville. Thanks for the great review!

If I lived closer to a port I would definitely cruise on these older ships for the experience. Unfortunately I don’t live near any ports so it’s a days drive for a cruise so we generally take longer cruises on larger ships to make it worth our time.

I LOVED the fascination! I like the ships that have an eating area out on the deck. Not all of them have that unfortunately
The fantasy class ships are amazing and the ones that were sold/scraped are missed!
My husband and I will be boarding this ship July 4th. Going to Freeport and Bimini. Never been to Bimini so we are extra excited for that. We want to see Bimini Rd but having a hard time figuring out how to do that without spending $400 for a special tour.

Thank you for your review! We are scheduled for the Elation in April 2025. We were on the Sunshine last year and had a great time! I read other negative reviews for the Elation, but you brought a good unbiased review which took the worries away. This will be my 4th cruise, my wife's 2nd cruise and my wife's 2 sisters, brother-in-law, and "senior Father" (their first cruise) will join us on the Elation in April. It looks like it will be a good comparison to The Sunshine as in small size and amenities. Thank you again. Happy Next Cruse!

We are booked for Spring break 2025, but now I’m a bit nervous about the food options because I love to eat. The one and only time we cruised was on what used to be known as Carnival Victory in 2014.
Have a terrific cruise, this ship is limited on food venues but has a ton of options. Even if you don't like one thing you will find so much more that you will enjoy!

Yeah, overall food was good but we used to eat at buffet a decent amount in the past, but it seems to be getting worse in the last year or two. Happy early birthday! I'm still hoping you get on the Sunrise!

During recent dry docks Carnival changed the bathrooms to ADA Compliant. We saw that on the Pride. Actually they redid the Lido bathrooms too. You could see men using the urinal from the tables! Bad choices

We were on from March 9th to March 14th
The Elation was our first cruise 2 years ago. We loved that it was small enough to get around & never felt crowded. We definitely got to know the staff, we even had the same Bartender a year later on the Venezia & she remembered us.
I 100% agree with you, the smaller ships just have that personal touch which we love. We actually saw the casino bartender on the Elation on the Mardi Gras as well!
