@@oscardgl123 If you can get an instructor to show you the basics. It helped me a lot I'm 55years young and skating has become my new hobby since we took the kiddos from our church. My young instructor is awesome 😎 Happy skating 😊
Hey...new skater here, hope you have continued on your journey if not Deborah from Dirty School of Skate has 2 videos (and more) that teach you skate exercises to help train you for balance and using left and right side. 1." Roller skating practice-session1" and 2. "Practice Roller Skating" Also my technique is I do a lot of the exercises with skates off like squatting and stepping. Also if your in your head like I was go get all gear..head, wrists, elbow, knees and butt then you will be a force😁 Happy skating 🛼💕🛼🙂

I'm currently taking one on one lessons. Listening to you explain the need to initially scrape as I turn is game-changing advice because scraping teaches me to apply pressure downward and builds my muscle memory to learn balancing my own weight as I move. I hope I make sense. Thank you very much, sir!
Thank you so much for showing us the super basics for getting used to being on skates. So many times instructors suggest learning bubbles right away, and that’s just not something I’m confident with yet! I feel like your technique will help with my confidence.
New Subie! I just found your channel and subscribed immediately because your style of teaching and explaining everything is just so gentle. I bought myself a pair of skates for my birthday two months ago, and by the time I took them out the box and tried them on, I fell super hard! It was like watching Melman the Giraffe on skates 😫I was all wobbly and hit the floor hard as hell in seconds. Sadly I threw the skates back in the box and havent put them back on since, but after being calmed by your videos I might give it another try. Thanks so much
Hi, I hope you put them back on if not practice balance first. Do some light yoga that focus on leg balance. Do some squats. Deborah from Dirty School of skates have good techniques for beginners. I'm going to see if I can make a playlist for skaters. Check out my page if you like.💕 Happy skating 🛼💕🛼🙂
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I have been trying to learn for idk how long and today is the first time I was secure in my balance and turning. Every new move and instruction, I was able to grasp the skill. You're a great teacher and it's like you put yourself in the place of the beginner rather than the expert stage you're at. FINALLY, I FOUND SOMEONE I CAN LEARN FROM1
Amazing teacher!! TAMPA? I don't know? I'm 76. Not in good physical shape. If I fell on him I might hurt him or someone else! To protect everyone I'll stay here and just pretend it's me taking his lessons!!! Lol. Love watching these skaters. They're so great. 😂
okay i have watched 20* videos now for "beginners" and so far this is the ONLY one to teach me the fundamentals. I can absolutist see why people pay you for lessons. currently wishing I lived in Florida so i could get proper lessons but this is def working
you look like an excellent instructor, and i just subscribed to your channel!! it's been at least 40 years since i was on skates, and i wasn't that skilled or confident even then!! both of my kids were!! however, i've been wanting to roller skate again for years, so at 74 years old, i recently bought skates!! 😩after my protective gear arrives (next friday) i intend to search for an instructor that teaches old folks like me!! i wish you lived near silver spring, md. 😆i can't wait to learn to skate again, and I'm determined that it will happen!!! 👍🏾👍🏾
I fell hard and fast yesterday on my shoulder. Im 47. Pain was excruciating 😣. Im going to try again after i heal. I did exactly what you said..i fell right back AGAIN! SMDH. I couldn't plan for those falls.
I use to skate when I was younger. We all went skating and my dad had went flying around me and didn't know when his skate got cought on mine and he more less tripped me and I went down my feet both went out from under me and I went down on my butt. It hurt when it first happen and went away. I was 21 then. When I was 27 I was pregnant with my son and the pain in my butt came back and after he was born it went away. Now last year the pain in my butt is back. It's my tail bone and I can't sit for long I'm on pain pills for it. So please be careful on how you fall cause it will come back on you and you don't need that pain. Beleave me it don't tickle.
I am 43 and started skating 2 weeks ago and still skate like a just new beginner. I fell last weekend and my shoulder hurted today i went to the ER finding out that i injured myself when i fell…My right shoulder bones separated not sticking together as it should…Now i am wondering if i should continue or give up…
Always amazed by these, first time putting skates on I couldnt even stand in one spot, and first time getting up off the floor took almost a solid minute T_T
Where do you think the best place to start practicing besides a rink?I'm not a first-timer but it's been 19 years since I've been on skates and I would like to get back out there but going to a skating rink with other people around you its not for me right now. And my house all my floors or carpet besides my dining room and of course my kitchen and bathroom.
In America I saw alot of YTers start on top of Parking Lots. Or find another place with clean flat ground without people or traffic around so you can concentrate better on your self =)
Nope, just take it slowly =) You will make progress slower then kids especially because we adults tend to fear falls alot more but this is without reason, injuries take alot longer to heal as an adult. So just take your time, get some safety gear and start your skate journey ^^
I met a 50 year old ice skater that learned everything I did in 10 years in just one :D she was awesome. In my defence I was too scared to do any tricks as a kid and just didn't know how, cause I had no Internet or skater friends.
I'm 56 and watching and doing the steps on foot while healing a broken foot. Can't wait to skate again like back in the 80s. However the family says not without gear and helmet. 😂
Don't you think its a good idea to put beginners with potective gear to give them the comfort that if they fall they wont hurt themself unless they fall on they butt
Back in the days I was a very good skater. The only thing I wore was knee pads. The last time I had enjoyed myself on skates was in 2007.i had fractured my left foot in 2016 didn't heal properly and have carpal tunnel . I have been doing strengthening exercises for my feet and legs. I'm over 55 should I wear padding for my spine besides ,wrist, knee, elbow and helmet now.
She did an amazing job for 1st time on her skates! Kudos to you too Coach Diamond !
My parents used to dance whenever they went skating. Loved to watch them. I loved skating, but couldn’t dance like them.
My 8 year old girl just started skating. She wants me to join her. So here I am. Wish me luck.
How did it go?
Not so good. I'm working at it.. lol. My daughter is already skating. Turns out our neighbor also roller skates. So they skate together.
Good luck. I never learned to skate because my mom fell and bruised her tailbone one night at the rink and we never went back.

I love it. Her shirt started around her wrists, then up at the forearms, now above the elbows.
I love her.

Man, you are a good instructor.
I can’t even stand yet! She did an amazing job for a first timer!!!
Thanks for this awesome training video! I think incorporating the trainee in the video for demonstration is a great idea.
Skating student slowly leaves frame! Lol
Great lesson!

What a great job for your first time on skates! Great tutorial/lesson, very kind and informative!!
It would be great, IF, we KNEW we were finna fall. The thing about falling, is that it happens spontaneously.. otherwise, we wouldnt fall.
The guy in background added inspiration to your video. I can skate but you both remind me to do it more. Love your vids

woah.... thank you for saying this. i will do my best to not fall there....
Good advice, there is protective gear for the rear or wear a hoodie around you waist when skating helps too
I hurt my tailbone when I was 15 and it hurt till I was in my 30's. I couldn't sit comfortably in the movies. REALLY sensitive and hard to heal from .
She knows to do the v stance to not roll- I’m not being critical
Even to just learn to Balance takes time
AMAZING WHEN THEY AREN'T BUMPING INTO EACH OTHER! 😂🤣❤️

Great video , just started again and going to practice falling and getting up !!!!
Awesome teacher 👏👏
Thanks for sharing 🙏🙏
God bless you and your family 🎁🙏🙏😇🙏🙏🙏
What kind of wheels are you using? Smaller than others. Thanks ❤. Thinking she could use some gear. Just sayin.
Shouldn't her knees be bent more?
Thought it was just me, cause my OCD was through the roof! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦🏾♀️
Yes. lol
Where are you located?
I’m get your lessons so good.
The more you learn how to skate the better and you become😊😊
Always amazed by these, first time putting skates on I couldnt even stand in one spot, and first time getting up off the floor took almost a solid minute T_T

Good video
Nice!
It coming up to midnight in Australia as I'm watching the video. And going through my watermelon 🍉. I haven't skated for yrs🛼🔥👍
A wall, a little brother, or a trashcan 🤭 😂😂😂

BABYGIRL SAID "SERIOUSLY" 😂❤
Is this an outdoor skating area in Tampa??

Lessons or adult skate at a rink
In America I saw alot of YTers start on top of Parking Lots. Or find another place with clean flat ground without people or traffic around so you can concentrate better on your self =)
I usually teach kids around me on a empty basketball court, bike path, parking lots
Empty outdoor tennis courts are pretty good.
@missmandy2049 and of course I would have to have wheels that's meant for outside right because mine are for inside
I am 67 with knee problems, but I want to skate is it too late for me? 😢
Come for the lesson stayed for the snickers
I'm going to gete a trainer and learn how to roller skate.
I'm in Brandon and I would like a lesson
I went skating today and fell and hurt my arm so when ur about to fall go low
we just fell girl falls in the background also have 2 learn how 2 get up girl gets up W
My bad for spinning all thru ur video lol
I enjoyed watching you!
🥹🫶🏾🙏🏾 Thank you so much
Good job... I'm sure she looks up instead of down my now.
I’m naturally clumsy. When I use the stop I fly into the floor. I can rollerblade but suck at rollerskating
Same but I so wanna learn to skate dance some moves are just not blades savvy
Can a person be too old to start skating?

She should bend her Knees bent and head up.
........first time.
She needs to squat a lil

She's lying 🤥 y'all!!! She knows how to truck and jam skate very well! 😜😁

Funny thing....she's a grown woman. He's not responsible for her decisions in life.
@eriktyson7696 but the instructor knows best it's like a private vs general both are grown men but 1 has more authority
@@hayleywilliams8750 it's nothing like that. A General can and does order his soldiers to wear protective gear. The Instructor can only recommend.
@eriktyson7696 Yeah, sorry mate, you're right. I think I exaggerated this too far
She knows how to skate. Her fake fall and when she got up and pushed those skates over. 😂 smh
I,m just wondering if you are too old to learn how to skate if you are in your 60,s
One is never to old just use pads as bones do get more brittle as we age
She is Not a first timer as she is too balanced
Oh my god STOP beverlysmith /cynicalsmith
When I first started I already had alot of balance, for some people good balance comes naturally. Some people have better balance than others
