This is my favorite one of all the dado jigs on TH-cam cause it’s the easiest to make and it’s also adjustable. Thanks! I will try this weekend.
Awesome! Thank you!
Woodprix is nice for that.
I’d rather make my own plans
Love it! Super simple. No measuring. A+ !
Awesome! Thank you very very much!
Simple helps a lot

Hey Paw Paw, I wish you were my neighbor!
lol, I never see my neighbors. Thank you
Thank foreshowing this. I'm new to using a router. So let me get this straight (pun intended). If I use a different size router bit I need to make another jig for that size of bit so that the cut is right along the edge of the jig? Also, why did you place the second jig opposite the first one? Is it because you want the dado to be bigger than the size of the router bit?
The jig will be the same. You just need to place it in a different place. As long as the bit is smaller than the dado, just make the necessary setup.
Another great video. But you know how the Army really says it. It's "keep it simple stupid" LOL stay safe
You are absolutely correct. Thank you very much.
I think I like the square base better
Thank you for your input
Looks great, but nailing the jig down to your workpiece? You can't be serious?
It all depends on the project
Thanks for sharing. What is the made of your router? I do not know how to choose a small router to do the job.
You can use any small trim router. This one in this video was from Harbor Freight.
Nice!!!
Thanks! I appreciate this very much
Hi there!! I watched this video about a dozen times to get all the info I need to make this jig. I made it today, 1.15.22, and I made my very first half lap joint using this jig. I had seen other videos and their jigs were in-depth and seemed kinda complicated for a first year woodworker. But I made my jig, used a router and I made 3 half lap joints using your advice. I'm excited!! I learned not how to make dados, but half laps!! If I can do this then ANYONE can do this. Thank you... thank you! And thanks so much for taking the time and effort to make this video.

Great idea!! Thank you sir for your service to our country.
You’re very welcome. Thank you for watching my videos
At 3:20 the procedure is the same for both pieces of the jig i guess. Thanks i like it.
Yes, it is the same.
Holy smoke.
K.I.S.S. I'm so scared of all the other fancy ones. This is just perfect. Going to make one this weekend. Exactly what I need.
Awesome! Glad it helped you
Love watching your videos. Stay safe and healthy from Baton Rouge!!
Thank you very much. Yes sir, you stay safe and healthy as well. Wow, a neighbor, awesome.
Thanks, keep it simple!!!! great video! Take care and keep your health !
You're welcome. Thank you very much for visiting my channel. Yes, I will do all I can to stay health for me and my family.
Great idea! Did you use a straight bit to cut the dado or a flush trim bit?
Definitely a straight bit. The flush trim bit would not work because the bearing would be in the way.
@@PawPawsWorkShop Thanks for the question and answer to both of you. I watched a video where someone used the router bit with a top bearing and it consistently cut my dado too narrow. It was a very frustrating experience. The bearing was definitely the issue.
This is sweet & simple. Will get the job done. I will make a couple of this .. . ..today. Don't need the bells & whistles. Excellent job.
Thank you. Best of success with your project.
Hey Paw Paw, don't breath that dust man, it's super harmful
