I think when you die the game creates a new object of your model but ragdolled, shortly before it registers you as dead. Rythian searched the ragdoll that flew out in front of him as he died just before the game pronounced him dead. I'd assume it doesnt happen often cause unless you have insane reflexes the ragdoll has to fly into your crosshair.
My favorite was Duncan vs Sjin in the video we get sucked out into space. Duncan RDMed Sjin as a detective with the golden gun when he was the traitor.
