Sanock I dont agree with Tim in the slightest (Ive beaten Dead Space 1 and 2 multiple times, whereas with 3 I have owned for years now and cannot force myself to finish it), but you have to respect the his opinion.
If there is one thing that I could understand with what he is saying, the game is different co-op, and anything cooperative with a friend is always fun. But he should put that feeling into hindsight before giving a valid review. In all fairness there was more variety of gameplay in this then the first game, but less so than the second. Its also vastly different for good or for bad. The main parts where this game either makes it breaks it for most people is the story. Either you like it like Tim (or as myself and most of the community) disliked and thought it was a worse game for it.
the crafting was cool but ruined one of the best pieces of the previous games, in that they forced you to use different weapons due to limited resources. 3 had me use one gun the whole time once i figured out a stupid gun combination
Well to be fair in the first one you could just not pick up any other weapon and use the plasma cutter and EZ MODE the fuck out of the game with just the plasma cutter. Maybe a second weapon if you want. No ammo issues then. Never got far enough in the second to comment if this was still a factor and it's been far too long since I last played it to even remember. Never played 3. Still want to finish the trilogy to see it through because I did love dead space 1. Played through that game probably 10 times in a week when it came out. Though it was pretty damn short.
Resident Evil 1 vs 2 Dead Space 1 vs 2 They're both winners in my eyes and its hard to distinguish, but the third one is just that fateful follower that leaves something to speak of. Its not bad or incredible. Its just the third game and nobody can say its awful. Its just...that...third...game.
As someone who has played the first two games recently and is playing the third right now, the third is far inferior. Why would I want to fight human enemies with guns??
“Fun co-op game” is the biggest cop-out ever in video games. Almost any game that isn’t a horrific slog and utter horseshit garbage can be a fun co-op game with friends…..that doesnt make it notably good either.
