Love how you see the occasional Ashina Cross thrown into his combos, he pulls out Spiral Cloud Passage, and in final mode just goes full berserk "Stab the ground in rage" combos.

Yeah, this mod's author I think designs the most Fun 'hard mode' fights out of the various modded Sekiro overhauls. He has a good sense for balancing higher mechanical difficulty, more involved sequences, and big cinematic moments that draw your attention, while somehow leaving enough room for the player to express themselves in their offense/evasion/defense.
Genichiro is such a good boss and character and this mod makes him even better. It captures his fast fighting style perfectly. The modding community for this game is amazing

@@ropo_oekiro has the best combat in any game ever let alone just the parrying aspect. As someone that’s beat the game twice tho I would say the parrying in God of War (4 and 5) is pretty good and I think the overall combat is a close second to Sekiro

Genichiro is one of my most fav bosses in the game, he has a good character arc, he gives a good taste of the game mechanics and kind of prepares you for the rest of the game. But This mod does a very good job capturing the true essence of Genichiro's character, showing his desperate attempt and how much he can push imself to fulfil his goal.

It was sad when sword saint Isshin called Genichiro pitiful after he stepped in for him in the final fight. Even after training into adulthood with Tomoe, he never was able to match his Grandfather's skill or even come close. Perhaps because he is not from the same bloodline. But this is the version of Genichiro that Isshin would have been proud of.
Uffff Such an awesome fight Genichiro is probably my favourite character of the game, I think he knows that what he is doing is wrong but feels that it is the only possible course of action to save the land that he loves.

Edit: btw Ichimonji is fast enough now it can be used immediately after deflecting Geni's counterslash, same for floating passage, so there's about 3 openings in the back and forth string to fit a fast ability in instead of an R1

Yo I just picked up sekiro, I really tought it would be too hard for me but once I took down lady butterfly after like 70 attempts I really start understanding the game. I have just run trough boss after boss after and I'm quite proud because of how it all started out. I beat this boss your playing here on around 10 attempts which I tought was a massive improvement from how I started. This game is really good I can't belive I missed out for this long.
@Maxwell Smith don’t attack ever at first, just try parry everything, once u realize how parrying works start adding attacks into it. Most of this game is knowing the move set of the bosses so if you’re getting smacked try paying attention to what ur doing before you die. Also, The first half of this game until you get to genichiro is complete ass and rly annoying, so keep going until you get to the top of Ashina castle, it starts getting rly fun from from there

I def recommend skipping it, I just finished the game and only until I grabbed literally everything there is to get I went and fought the headless then I started a new playthrough, they’re tough you need divine confetti the lapis fire prosthetic or the purple umbrella so def skip it haha.
What's the move Sekiro performs at 0:10, 0:15, and 2:58 where he launches himself airborne before performing the lightning reversal? It's incredibly stylish! I was under the impression that jumping and performing a basic attack was the only means of reversal. I've been meaning to revisit NG+2 with Demon Bell and without Kuro's Charm. While I won't be able to mod anything to reach this level of intensity, incredible videos like these make me want to further improve and add flair to my own gameplay.

Also at 00:42 I had no clue that when he charged up that bow shot to cheese recover that nearly broken posture of his, you could just shuriken him to knock him off kilt and shoot in without hesitating whatsoever.
