  • Have a glorious day and keep Tinkering!
Create an Epic Print in Place Fidget cube in just a few minutes using Tinkercad. 6th Grader Luke started the idea and now you get to have fun making your own.
The print-in-place fidget is one of my favorite creations. Check out how easy it is to create a printable Tinkercad project that is also fun. Great for a classroom as there is a ton of room for kids to explore. They also print in under an hour which is great when your trying to get all your kids projects printed.

Cool video. I'm learning what clearances you need to leave on your printer.

Thank you. Back then it was a classroom of printers. I had 16... not a single one was a duplicate model. It was a hoot to keep the room running and create new content all the time.

I belive they are talking about the cutting and fitting. If the ball and the hole are the same size, it will be too tight and bot leave room to move, so the ball has to be smaller for better clearance and a gap as you mentioned on video. But what if you scale the whole model up? Obviously the gap will be alot bigger and leave too much wiggle room. So their question is how to adjust it agording to size. Is there a mathematical way to do it so the gap will always stay a 1mm distance?
I'm also asking because I'm making an action fuigure of many sizes. And simply scaling an existing boolien will just make the gap bigger.

I have played around and modded a infinity cute. th-cam.com/video/38NqT3Gcc10/w-d-xo.html Here is a video of it printing. Found it on Thingiverse tweaked it though. I will keep thinking of the cube though. It would be sweet to build one from scratch in Tinkercad.

    With the Sphere,
would you change the steps to max to make it smoother or does it not matter

Interesting question. I of course left mine as it was. I will try a smoother one on Tues when I get back to school. I did have a few printers where I did not have them calibrated well enough for it to work right off the bed... Maybe smoother would solve that. My guess was that my filament was too hot and dripped a bit.
