So glad you took the chance on yourself! I have so enjoyed getting to know you and learning about the stories you want to tell. Happy to have you here, buddy! :)
So happy to have found your channel. Your videos are dope. Keeping me motivated to keep going when I don't feel like writing. I'm glad to hear your channel has helped you in so many ways. This video is spot on! Everyone should start a TH-cam channel. Community is key. Every video shot, edited and uploaded makes you better. - Rhayne
Oh man, you're calling me out lololol The social anxiety is too real. Would love to share what I'm working on but man my process is so unorganized it would be chaotic lmaoo And having my face on the internet space feels so weirdddd
You couldn't have posted this at a better time! 🥹 I started this channel about two months ago and can't get over my anxiety to film myself 😅 I'm pretty sure that you're the reminder from the universe that I need to start 🫶🏾 Thanks bro
I started a YT channel...and realized i don't read fast enough for booktube lol Maybe once I settle on what I'm writing, I'll try journaling that process.
I started TH-cam in 2015 as a booktube channel. A lot has changed over the years (and I took my oldest videos down because of reasons) but I still talk about books, and now my writing as well. Congrats on starting a TH-cam and taking a chance on yourself! It's not easy. I have social anxiety issues as well, but have found talking to a camera a bit easier than a person but I still trip over my words and stuff. I'm better at writing a script and reading it than talking off the cuff but then that comes off weird... Always learning, always trying. Bullet points help me a lot of the time. :) So at least I know what i'm talking about to some degree lol. TH-cam didn't even exist when I was 13 I feel so old lol. I was 16 in 2005 when TH-cam began. Good luck with your channel and writing!
Congrats on your growth here on TH-cam! 🥳🥳🥳 It can be pretty nerve wrecking talking on camera, but you’ve got this! I, myself feel like I need to do a refresh on TH-cam. I want to try something different. Not sure how it will play out, but I’m willing to try.
Wow I needed this video! It has been a constant struggle trying to get back into posting content on my channel but this was such a great reminder on all the positive reasons to do so. Its been so fun watching your channel grow! I always look forward to your videos so I hope you keeping doing what you're doing 😊🙌🏾
That social anxiety is so true. I struggle with it too when I'm recording videos 😂 I can't pronounce words for nothing lol Omg the showing your face thing 🙈 I can't bring myself to show my face. That's why I have a vtuber instead 🤣
Showing my face was definitely pretty scary at first, but I'm slowly getting over it. You don't have to do it, ofc, but I think it does help with appealing to more people (if that is your goal).
Its the 'first video' hurdle which is the most difficult for me to get over. I'm too perfectionisty... I always end up wanting it to be the perfect introduction. But it cant hurt to try again!
Honestly, I feel that so much. My first video is trash, but I'm glad I made and posted it because it kickstarted the channel. I'd just say don't worry about your first video, as not many people will see it right away either. Think of your channel as a playground or an open world sandbox when you're in those beginning stages.
I am planning to start but what stops me is , when I hear I need a niche and I’m like.. what is that for me? 😅 I plan to make videos about me writing and my daughter homeschooling high school years for memories. Which makes me think, who wants to see that!? So I hesitate
@@sierrabookishlife You don’t NEED a niche. It all just depends on what your goals are. I think you should make those videos, especially since they’ll be good to look back on in the future!
Really love this! Starting is always the hardest part!
I feel like having my youtube channel has made me more consistent with my writing goals!
Yeah, totally!
@@ldjwrites it’s funny, you’d think it would be the opposite!

You could always do it without showing your face! I’ve seen it done well before

Yeahhhh those booktubers are a different breed when it comes to reading. Do you have any ideas for what kind of project you want to start working on?

You totally should try something new if that's how you're feeling. What's the worst that can happen?
